Iris Evangeline is super dooper

Jemimapuddleduk · 18/01/2012 21:28

Great choice of names! I would go with Iris Elizabeth (that's our fave choice for a girl when we finally get pregnant, and stay pregnant!).
They are all beautiful options though.

threecurrantbuns · 18/01/2012 21:33

Thank you.

Iris Elizabeth has been edging it! Partly because it traditional and classic.

But then i did wonder about giving a bit more of a 'modern name' as a middle, just incase for some reason, god forbid she doesnt like Iris and changes to her middle name in the future, this is what promted the Iris Amelia(prob really over thinking it)

Then earlier i stubbled upon Iris Evangeline and thought it sounded really nice too.

I love Iris Olivia.

DD and I have just been talking about the name Elizabeth, she said it is the most popular middle name in her class.

Plonker · 18/01/2012 22:55

My first thought was Iris Olivia, but I adore Elizabeth and that goes really well too Smile

threecurrantbuns · 19/01/2012 20:13

Think I've narrowed it down to Elizabeth, Amelia or Evangeline. With Elizabeth still edging it atm

SoozyWoozy · 19/01/2012 20:19

Oh I love Iris Evangeline too :) Pretty and grand, too! The only thing about Elizabeth is the similar 's' sound, which Evangeline doesn't have. You'll know when you look into her eyes :)

Funnily enough I was thinking along the lines of Iris Alexandra - personally I think a 'ia' or 'a' ending name is a good foil to a very succinct first name - with that in mind think I'd go for Iris Amelia....

threecurrantbuns · 19/01/2012 20:34

Mmm its so hard to decide :)

Your probably right suzy just impatient and like to be near to decided before we meet her.

Someone else had mentioned the 's'sound in both Iris and Elizabeth can't decide it that bothers me or not.

Love the sound of Iris Evangeline and how grand it is but when I mentioned it to dh when I was making a list last night he didn't look convinced.

I like Iris Victoria best. Victoria is a lovely name, classic and underused at the moment.

SoozyWoozy · 20/01/2012 09:49

I decided on DD1s name before she was born... She was Evie Jessica for all of three days ;) Decided on something totally different once we'd had her! DD2 was decided after she was born, DD3 was decided before she was born and totally suited her so we kept it.

I'm pregnant with number 4 and already thinking about names at 14w, even though we are facing the uncertainty of an amnio, which is why I'd like to use Hope as a mn as all we keep saying is 'hope it all turns out OK'.

threecurrantbuns · 20/01/2012 13:25

Aww that would be a lovely mn

This is our forth too. Dd1 we decided b4 and it really suited her.

DD2 we were between two one of which was Iris but at the time dh wasnt sure I've always loved it.

DS1 we Ga

Opps wrong button.

Ds1 we had no idea and it drove certain family members mad that we took soo 'long' to come up with a name. (All of a week)

It's a first finding out and I'm so pleased dh now likes Iris we haven't told family the sex so can't wait till she is here now and I can start using her name :) so she better look like an Iris Grin

What are your girls names Suzy? If you don't mind me asking

SoozyWoozy · 22/01/2012 20:05

Do you mean the girls names I have chosen for this pregnancy or the ones I already have LOL!!!

I have a Rose, an Eloise and a Charlotte. This time I really like Megan but DH hates it but I will use day 3 hormones to get my own way

threecurrantbuns · 22/01/2012 21:33

Lol that really made me Smile

Gorgeous names all off them.

Well I'm still none the wiser if it wasnt for too many 's' sounds Iris Elizabeth would be the one.

That is The name picked out during my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy but dh wasnt convinced with dd2 so she had the 'second' name we had picked.

The dc3 was a boy So didn't get to use it that time either.
Saying that dh still wasnt completely sold
This time dh seems to have turned a corner :)

So there is still time yet for your Megan ;)

My two week old Iris Dorothy is snuggled on my chest. We originally had Iris Mae but changed our minds at last min. I loved Iris Aphra but H wouldn't let me. Of your list I love Iris Evangeline best.
