Looking for some middle name ideas for Piper for a boy

I've never liked Piper for a girl, but I do like it for a boy. I am looking for some middle name ideas that could go with Piper, last name Mills.

Fenton, it is a very old English name.

I like Piper for a girl, but not for a boy.
A strong manly conventional name, like Kenneth, Daniel, Alexander, Mark or John would do. What about what of the grandfather's first names, or another loved relative (uncle, etc)?

ragged · 14/01/2012 11:04

Or a family surname could go in for middle name, fits with Piper as a surname-y sounding set. Haydon, Russell, Cox, that kind of thing.
Watch initials, just realise I suggested PAM (oops).

Piper's a girl's name! As in the actress Piper Perabo! but if you must have it, choose a conventional, masculine middle name so that he can use that when he gets tired of being laughed at

jaffacakehips · 14/01/2012 14:04

I have to agree with wellwisher a masculine middle name is the way forward.

What about Parker?

Bunbaker · 14/01/2012 14:06

I'm not sure about Piper and Parker together. It sounds like a stage name.

I always thought of Piper as a girl's name as well, but I have learned something new today.

TheCrunchUnderfoot · 14/01/2012 14:08

Piper Daniel

Piper Dominic

Piper James

Piper William.

But better than that would be Piper as the middle name...

jaffacakehips · 14/01/2012 14:08

Sorry I meant Parker as a first name not a middle name. Should of made that clear.

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 14/01/2012 21:13

I would urge against Piper for a boy. You might not like if for a girl and think it better for a boy, but you won't have to wear it every day for the rest of your life.

canyou · 14/01/2012 21:31

I am also not a fan and agree that he needs a 'normal' masculine name as well so he can later choose
Piper Mills = Pepper Mill in my head Sorry Blush

scottishmummy · 14/01/2012 21:41

Regardless of your preference piper=girl name, and bit too wacky for a boy

StepfordWannabe · 14/01/2012 21:44

Piper is a girl's name definitely and pretty awful for both boys and girls IMHO sorry!

Onion1968 · 14/01/2012 22:08

If you must use it then it would be better as a middle name. Otherwise I feel he would be in for a lot of teasing.

SarainStock · 15/01/2012 12:28

I've never really thought of Piper as that feminine. It's more of a surname type name and so more gender neutral anyway. I'm not too concerned over the girls name comments if anyone even would say that, there are lots of girls running around with boys names after all. I agree with using a more traditional male name with it though. I really like Piper James out of those suggested so far.

Oh Lord yes, definitely a girls name. It's not gender neutral at all I'm afraid. You're right on the surname thing though, it's a little along the lines of Taylor.

I'm afraid I could never give a good verdict on using this as a boys name, unless it was a middle name. If you are adament though, you need an extremely masculine middle name to pull it off.

I'm not too concerned over the girls name comments if anyone even would say that, there are lots of girls running around with boys names after all your point is true to a certain extent e.g. Alex, Robyn, Jamie or Avery (to name a few)...but Piper is mainly associated as a masculine name.
