I like it, but that's because I know a wonderful one in RL. She's in her late 30s. She's Austrian so it's pronounced Dan-eel-a.

two completely different options for shortening too - Dani, Ella, maybe others? Nella? (haven't met anyone called it in RL but like it)

You could have Danielle and have Elle as a nn. Really don't like Dani.

I prefer it, like Janoschi describes, in German (Daniela) and pronounced Dan-yeeh-la, with the emphasis on the second syllable (long eh).

For some reason I find Daniella looks/sounds less elegant.

Oooo I never hear this name mentioned. I really like it! Sounds pretty and can be shorted to Dan for a tom boy, Danni or Ella. I also like Danielle :)

When I started teaching, 15 years ago, there were loads of Daniellas. Now, not a one!

It's a great name, I know two people with the name and both are absolutely lovely. As others have said, it's also got a good range of shortened versions if you wish.

What middle name would you use with it?

Do you have any family names you'd like to use for mn? Or other fave names?
I think something classic or simple that doesn't begin with a vowel or they run together, and without 'L''s or it's too much with the 'ella':
