Middle name likely to be Ray (I know it doesn't go well with Reuben)

Girls

Helena nn Nell - my fave
Florence - bit meh for me but DH likes it
Beatrice
Genevieve - nn Gene (Jean)

Middle name likely Jean exp Genevieve!

Surname one syllable beginning with H. This is dc2, already have a dd. Also open to other suggestions.

You have very good taste. I like Sebastian and Genevieve from your lists.

SoThisisMe · 08/01/2012 14:20

Sebastian or Isaac from your boys list, although I like them all except Archie which is just far too popular where I live.

Your girls list is lovely I like them all (Helena also my fave), but I wouldn't use the middle name Jean with a first name starting with B...

oreocrumbs · 08/01/2012 14:22

Reuben and Beatrice. Would like Noah too but my DN is Noah!

All lovely names though Smile

comedaygoday · 08/01/2012 14:40

Like all your girl's names. My favourite is Helena which is lovely, really elegant and beautiful

Like your boy's names, except for Archie. I think this will date quite badly as there are so many Archies around atm and I personally find boys' names ending in."ie" e.g. Archie, Alfie, Jamie quite weak.

DaenerysTargaryen · 08/01/2012 14:42

im with you, i like Reuben and Helena

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/01/2012 14:46

Boys

Reuben - okay
Sebastian - like it a lot but hate Seb
Noah - like a lot
Leo - not my sort of name but nothing wrong with it
Issac - this spelling, no but Isaac, yes
Archie - hate this, sorry

Girls

Helena nn Nell - lovely
Florence - fine
Beatrice - yes
Genevieve - yes

My gosh - a list in which I like nearly everything! Archie is nowhere near as elegant as the others on the lists.

TimeWasting · 08/01/2012 15:03

Gene Jeanie would be ace.

Isaac and Florence. I like Eleanor rather than Helena.

Lonnie · 08/01/2012 16:08

Reuben I dont like it never have
Sebastian Love it but dh always vetoed
Noah Was a possibility for a boysname for dd2
Leo its ok
Issac not my style and I find it is getting to popular
Archie no due to bad connections .

Middle name likely to be Ray (I know it doesn't go well with Reuben)
I like Ray as a mn.

Girls

Helena nn Nell - Love it.
Florence - bit meh for me too but I dont dislike it
Beatrice not my style
Genevieve - nn Gene (Jean) Nice

DancesWithWolves · 08/01/2012 16:12

Love Helena, although for some reason I was thinking about the name Genevieve last night and how I have never seen it mentioned on here.

Love Reuben.

Archie is very common now.

Sausagesarenottheonlyfruit · 08/01/2012 16:20

Reuben Ray sounds VERY cool.

I like Helena from your girl's list. What "type" is your surname? Makes a difference if you're Bloggs or Farquharson! #Wink

PDog · 08/01/2012 18:27

Thanks for all the feedback. DH and I have quite different taste so took us awhile to come up with those!

Should be Isaac Remus.

I am not really sold on Archie - there is a meaning for us behind it which is why it is on the list and it is not too popular here but it is at the bottom of list.

Glad my favourites are proving popular. sausages it is more like Bloggs but not hugeand common and has the less common spelling.

Do you think Helena goes with a H surname?

PDog · 08/01/2012 18:28

That should read hugely!

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 08/01/2012 18:29

sebastian and flo

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 08/01/2012 18:30

helena is OK but not nell

ViviPru · 08/01/2012 18:42

LOVE Nell.

Helena and Ray

wobblypig · 08/01/2012 22:54

I have a Genevieve but we call her by her middle name because it is a long and difficult name to say and spell for a little one. If you like Jean then call her Jean - I wouldn't think it a nn for Genevieve personally.

My choice would be Sebastian and Beatrice - going for the Shakespearean options rather than the Biblical ones.

humblehippo · 08/01/2012 23:32

My faves from there are your faves - Reuben and Helena. Good list all round though.

lurkinginthebackground · 09/01/2012 00:15

Reuben and Helena.

Sluttybuttons · 09/01/2012 00:19

Boys

Reuben not keen
Sebastian love it, if dt1 had been a boy that would have been the name
Noah love
Leo love
Issac like
Archie love (its my cats name)

Think sebastian ray is the best combo

Girls

Helena nn Nell love
Florence dont like
Beatrice dont like
Genevieve dont like

Italiangreyhound · 09/01/2012 00:20

Reuben - love it
Sebastian - great
Noah - great
Issac - lovely

Middle name Ray - I think Reuben Ray sounds good, kind of like a singer. I like alliteration.

Girls

Helena nn Nell - lovely
Florence - like it but not nickname Flo
Beatrice - like it with nickname Boo or Bo
Genevieve - nn Gene (Jean)

Was going to suggest Genevieve Beatrice but then realised initials would be GBH!

Congratulations and good luck choosing a name.

hohohoshedittant · 09/01/2012 00:22

Oooh I like all the boys names. My faves are Sebastian and Noah.

Girls names I love Florence. Like Helena too (how would you pronounce it Hel-en-ah or Hel-ay-na) and love Nell. Not keen on the others.

All really really lovely. BUT don't pick a nickname until it naturally evolves - that's not really a nickname.

SparkleSoiree · 09/01/2012 00:48

Leo & Florence.
