As I walk around my neck of the woods I wish sometimes British registrars would also intervene: Tia Maria , Lotus Élan, April-May, Tequila are some of the corkers I've heard over the years

I am Shock at some of those!

Are there any rules in UK? I suspect there might be (eg against the inclusion of swearing or blasphemy) but don't actually know. For example, I can't quite imagine a real Sodoff Baldrick.

Funny. I know of a Justez, can only assume the local registrar did not adher to rules. Also a Jackdaniels, poor kid. And so, so many spelling mistakes walking around out there...

As a child, when reading the papers and seeing reports of trials, it always fascinated me that the judge was always called Mr Justice This or Mr Justice That. I genuinely believed that it was a Christian name, and that by a marvellous coincidence these people had all decided to go into the legal profession.

Percy maybe that's a common childhood thing because I thought exactly the same. I said to my dad "Funny how they're all called Justice isn't it?" He set me straight Grin

I think in this country, the registrar has the right to refuse anything they think is too stupid. Unfortunately there must be a fair few registrars out there who are extraordinarily tolerant.
