testing our boy and girl lists - what do you think?

This is our third baby, so it's been really, really tricky... but I think we've decided:

Caspar Benjamin Clarke (nn Cass)

or

Angelica Mary Clarke (nn Annie)

I loved Tabitha Mary, but didn't like Tabby as a nn. I actually wanted Tabitha Kathryn until I realised that would be Tabby Kat! I also love Albert as a second choice. We have Rufus Henry and Beatrice Rosalinde already (nn Betty).

What do you think? Any other ideas?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TidyDancer · 01/01/2012 14:14

I prefer the Casper rather than Caspar spelling, but other than that, you have good taste in names IMO!

ShowOfHands · 01/01/2012 14:18

Love Caspar, definitely the right spelling imo. Not wild keen on Angelica. I think candied food stuff or the brat from rugrats. Albert/Albie is brill too. Your other children have lovely names.

4madboys · 01/01/2012 14:34

LOVE Caspar, tho i am biased as my sister had a baby boy on xmas day! and that is his name Grin

DouzeQuinze · 01/01/2012 15:42

I really like Caspar Benjamin and Mary, but like ShowOfHands I'm not that keen on Angelica, but it does fit with the names of your other DC.

festivefireworks · 01/01/2012 15:45

Call me a sheep - like Caspar either way but Angelica Mary sounds like a spoilt madam for some reason. Kathryn Mary?

AnotherMincepie · 01/01/2012 16:17

Lovely choices :) Caspar is a great first name. Benjamin quite nice too (personally I prefer Albert - would Caspar Albert work?) Angelica Mary is lovely. Angelica is very pretty and much nicer than Tabitha IMO.

CecilyP · 01/01/2012 16:20

I like Caspar Benjamin (with the spelling you have used). Like others, I am not so keen on Angelica.

phlossie · 01/01/2012 17:20

Thank you. I love Caspar, but have slight reservations about Angelica, so we'll see if she's a she, and if it suits her!

The mns are all family names - Kathryn's my mum, Mary my dear aunt who sadly died in May (when we conceived) - so they stick as mns only...

Any other girl suggestions?

Angela, Aurora, Aurelia, Anastasia, Anneliese?

4madboys · 01/01/2012 18:40

Astrid is nice, our dd was almost that or Genevieve :) she is a Merryn tho which suits her too a tee :)

we almost called ds4 rufus! he is a rudi :)

4madboys · 01/01/2012 18:41

oh and i really liked Felicity for a girl but dp said no, but i think it would go nicely with your other names :)

ShowOfHands · 01/01/2012 19:04

Had recently born ds (Raphael) been a girl he would have been Josephine Aphra Mirabel, Sephie for short.

Offspring · 02/01/2012 07:17

Love ShowOfHands suggestion of Josephine, and think that Josephine Mary is lovely.

Suggestions:
Louisa
Eloise
Susannah
Evangeline

MaggieAtwood · 02/01/2012 08:30

You seem to be drawn to names with an 's' sound - Rufus, Caspar, Beatrice. This is why I think you are unsure of both Angelica and Tabitha (although Tabitha would be perfect imo....Tabitha Mary? Avoids the Tabby Kat).

So, how about

Cecily/Cecilia
Louisa
Lucinda
Heloise
Hester/Esther
Christabel
Estella
Josephine
Florence
Frances/Francesca
Augusta
Sylvia

I think Caspar is great and works extremely well with Rufus and Beatrice so would go with that if DC3 is a boy.

MaggieAtwood · 02/01/2012 08:39

Missed Ursula and Isadora off the list. I love both these names, so much so I am considering another dc just to use them Xmas Smile.

phlossie · 02/01/2012 16:28

Lovely suggestions!

offspring and showofhands I have two mns, and they are... Josephine Mary! I've always loved the name Josephine, and like Sephie as a nn.

Just to say our Tabitha is nn T. Some of her friends call her Tabs.
