Now got 5 weeks to go and still undecided.

What do you think of Zachary and Maggie (I'm not wild about Margaret but love Maggie).

thanks very much.

I LOVE Maggie not so keen on Zachary but together I think it's nice.

Starshaped · 30/12/2011 22:37

I LOVE Maggie and had it on my list for DD. DH was put off by the link to Thatcher though.

chocoroo · 30/12/2011 22:38

I loved Maggie but too many Margaret Thatcher connotations for me to ever actually use it.

Zachary is good, strong and not too popular or too unusual.

Middledaughter · 30/12/2011 22:51

Yes have to get over the MT issues but think that Maggie is good as its not too cutesy. Does anyone think Zachary (inevitably will end up being Zac) is a bit naf?

thanks

Love Zachary.

I hate Maggie. It's a very ugly name imho.

Faverolles · 30/12/2011 23:23

Love Maggie, not so keen on Zachary.

hester · 30/12/2011 23:26

I'm not so keen on Zachary or Zac - a bit try too hard, and lots of them around.

I like Maggie, and also Meg.

bigbluebump · 31/12/2011 08:02

I like Maggie/Margaret - strong classic feminine name.

I really dislike Zac/Zak/Zach names, they sound like Sack to me.

pilates · 31/12/2011 10:37

Maggie is a harsh old lady name, zachary is ok.

My grandmother was called Maggie and hated it. She changed it to Margaret as soon as she could.

3isamagicnumber · 31/12/2011 10:44

Like Zachary (would shorten to Zach / Zac / Zak) but dont like Maggie at all.

sonniebonnie · 31/12/2011 13:49

I love Maggie and think it will become more popular. I really don't like Zachary or any short forms (Zac, Zach etc) as they sound so harsh and sound like 'sack' or 'zig zag'.... I really don't see the attracation Confused.

Clawdy · 31/12/2011 14:43

Zachary is a lovely name,so are the short forms. Apart from the dreaded Thatcher link, Maggie sounds very hard.

oikopolis · 31/12/2011 15:58

Zachary's gorgeous, Maggie's a nickname. I would only use Margaret. And I would probably use a different nickname for it, given the choice -- Daisy or Greta spring to mind.

jellybeans · 31/12/2011 19:44

Like both but prefer short forms. Zac is nice and strong unlike alfie etc.

EatingLemonCheesecake · 31/12/2011 22:07

love Margaret but its a family name for me and really loved my grannys nn of Gretta so im bias :) Maggie on the other hand just reminds me of the baby from the simpsons... I like Zac/Zaky as nn for Zachary, good name

AnotherMincepie · 01/01/2012 16:19

Zachary is nice but getting overdone now.

Maggie is Mrs Thatcher to me (yes I'm old!)
