One syllable surname.

Really can't decide they are the top two middle names so far

I think Iris Elizabeth goes better, but both lovely

justhayley · 08/12/2011 21:08

I think Amelia, Iris Elizabeth is a bit old lady for me, Amelia brings it a bit into the 21st century.

Iris Elizabeth is gorgeous. Not so keen on Amelia.

TidyDancer · 15/01/2012 11:34

Iris Amelia flows better, but as a name, I prefer Elizabeth to Amelia.

Any chance you would consider two middle names? Because Iris Amelia Elizabeth is actually very beautiful.

SwedishMumInLondon · 15/01/2012 12:03

Iris Elizabeth is lovely and is what were going to call DS if he were a girl! Love it

CamperFan · 15/01/2012 12:06

Iris Elizabeth sounds much more sophisticated.

Ihatepeas · 15/01/2012 12:13

Iris elizabeth is gorgeous!!!

threecurrantbuns · 15/01/2012 12:42

Thanks all. Tidy I did think of that and agree it sounds lovely. But this is our fourth and the first 3 only have 1 middle name so doesn't seem right some how.

Plus don't think dh would go for It as he would be happy to skip middle names all together. Does sound gorgeous though.

I know an Emilia Iris, lovely combination I think

threecurrantbuns · 15/01/2012 19:44

It's a tough choice as I like them both.

We were set on Iris Elizabeth until someone said she have the nn Rissy Lizzy. The poster was saying that as a positive ... I think.

But it didn't occur to me and I really don't like it. So that started me thinking of an alternative. In my head Iris Elizabeth would not have a nn as would just be Iris day to day?

neither - as they run into each other.

Monstrosity · 17/01/2012 06:39

I know an Iris who always gets called Iris, never Rissy, so I wouldn't let that put you off. No one seems to shorten her name actually. I love Iris Elizabeth, flows nicely and really pretty.

Mi4 · 17/01/2012 06:46

I never get this Confused

Unless you are specifically going to always address the child by both names then does it really matter if they "flow"?

Just pick the names you like best!

exoticfruits · 17/01/2012 06:53

Miss off the Iris.(horrible)

Elizabeth is lovely.

Elizabeth Amelia.
