Can I call DS Magnus if there's a fair chance he'll be a wee slender fella?

How much do people really pay attention to name meanings?

DH is shorter than average and very slim. Chances are future DS2 will be too.

Is Magnus too 'big' a name for a smaller boy / man? it means big, or great, apparently.

Of course, there's a chance he might take after me and be a bit more, erm hefty

Magnus Magnusson was fairly slender, wasn't he? And I though it could mean "great" as well as simply big.

Of course you can! Lovely name I am one of these people that is really interested in the meaning of names, loads of people aren't, but with Magnus I would think of it meaning great which is a very fitting meaning for one's own DS if you know what I mean?!

I have a lovely little baby Magnus, a fab strong royal name, Roman emperor and Strong name. Brother is Maximillian, am now stuck for another roman emperor/ Royal king starting with M as Marcus is already taken by nephew... any ideas?

Agree it's a marvellous name, and would interpret the meaning as 'great' !
