Struggling with boys names

Hi

My DS is due in January. We had decided on Joe, I would really like Joseph as full name, it seemed to really suit the pregnancy - which has been stressful!

However DH is having a huge wobble about this name, so the other alternatives are:

Josh - DN is Ross, does this sound too similar?
Shaun -
Riley - not 100% on this
Ewan

Please tell me what you think, and let me know of other suggestions - DH is not very adventurous so will be more down the traditional route!

Oh I love Joe! Josh..not so much...you know there are tonnes of them right and Ross and Josh is a bit too rhymey?

Otherwise I like Sean (not a fan of Shawn) and not Riley...again far too many....Ewan is very nice....I like Rhys too....and Edward (eddie for short)

How about good old James...which can be Jimmy?

Well, 2 on your list start with Jo- so what about John?

I love that my DS John has a traditional name but he's the only one in the school. He's called Johnny day-to-day and that's cool...think Depp and Castle (Dirty Dancing) Grin

I've got a Liam, Jayden and a kian Smile

Thanks for the replies!

Mumbling Do you know DH actually suggested Jimmy but with our surname it sounds a bit like a dodgy gangster!! Rhys is nice, hmm never thought of that one.

libby Dh's best friend is John, although I would love to name him after Johnny Castle!

Dee DH's name is in your list!

I was going to say John but thought you might think it too plain...but I personally like it a lot.

I have a 1 month old Joseph so love that. DH had a wobble with it about 5 weeks before DS was due but hadn't been very helpful with baby name discussions anyway, so I just left it until DS was born and DH decided that he did like/want to use the name after all :).

I like Ewan off your list also (at one stage DS might have been Joseph Euan). We also liked the name Elijah/Eli if that appeals.

Love Shaun the most from your list.

How about Stuart - dont know any under 35 so must be due a comeback?! Smile

Heed Offspring's advice on Joseph! Otherwise, what about Joel, or Justin?
