What do you think of my girls list??

Ok so girls names seem to be the easiest for me and have a fairly short list (although new suggestions along similar lines are if course welcome)

Annabelle/Annabella
Charlotte
Imogen

Opinions, favorites or reasons why not are most welcome. Only early pg so lots of time to rethink :)

Clandy Grin I spy you! I'm being brutally honest since you posted this in Baby Names instead of our warm and fuzzy thread.

Charlotte - very lovely.

Annabelle - not keen on, know a few and just isn't my cup of tea.

Imogen - okay, not my style though.

Favorite of your list by far is Charlotte. Classic name.

Mum1369 · 15/11/2011 19:25

Don't really like Imogen, but other two are lovely, first one my favourite

Clandy · 15/11/2011 19:44

I have read on hear a few times that people don't like imogen. Guess it's a marmite name or something Smile

Thanks for the input!!

Nice to see you fishpond and nice to know it's not just me thinking of names so early Grin

Annabella is too much. Annabelle is fine, Imogen and Charlotte lovely.

salvadory · 15/11/2011 20:07

Imogen lovely (biased as I have one), Charlotte timeless, classic and lots of nice nicknames. Annabel (spelled this way) nice prefer Arabella to Annabella.

Towndon · 15/11/2011 20:09
  1. Annabelle
  2. Charlotte
  3. Imogen
FurryFox · 15/11/2011 20:14

Imogen is my favourite, but I do have one which is probably why, though she is often known as Immy.

Charlotte was on my shortlist for dd1 but went for Sophie in the end.

Not keen on Annabelle or Annabella personally.

JenniferYellowHatsRedLingerie · 15/11/2011 20:17

I like Imogen, I nearly called DD that.
Agree arabella is nicer than annabella.
Have you thought of emmeline?

pilates · 15/11/2011 20:20

Charlotte and Imogen both lovely names, not so keen on Annabelle.

ShesAStar · 15/11/2011 20:30

I love Imogen and Annabelle - I think both are very pretty. I find Charlotte a bit boring but completely inoffensive.

Hassled · 15/11/2011 20:32

They're all nice names. Imogen is probably my favourite.

eatyourveg · 15/11/2011 20:33

Imogen - fab, if she really hates it when she gets older she can call herself jen/jenny but I personally love the name and if I had a dd it would definitely be on my list

Charlotte - fine

Annabelle - ok but prefer Anna

Annabella - not keen on at all , sounds too pretentious imo

other suggestions you might want to consider
Matilda nn Tilly or Mattie
Rose
Georgina
Freya
Alice

Clandy · 15/11/2011 21:02

Yes I agree on Annabella it's too much and we have a long 3 syllable surname as well so would be bordering on ridiculous Grin

Not a fan of Arabella though as I know a rhyme about Arabella Miller and a furry caterpillar and that's all I can think of....

Also emmaline is nice and adore Emma but surname has 'em' sound at the beginning so would sound silly.

If it helps DD is Evie.

Thanks for replies Smile

lovely selection of girls names! both imogen and charlotte are v stylish. my preference would be imogen if i had to make the choice - a bit more unusual?

iloveberries · 16/11/2011 12:08

great names! lucky DD

Charlotte is my fave but only if you're comfortable with Charlie!

Fishpond · 16/11/2011 12:20

Not necessarily - the Charlotte I knew was only called Charlotte or Char her whole life, although her parents wanted to give her the nn Lottie as a child and just never did.

I quite like Lottie and Evie together Grin

rachel234 · 16/11/2011 12:45

Why don't you just choose the name YOU love best? They're all normal names but we all have different tastes - thankfully Smile.

But as you did ask, my personal preference is for Charlotte and Annabelle.

Clandy · 16/11/2011 21:38

I will choose the name dp and I love but it's nice to know a general consensus and outside opinion just incase I have overlooked an obvious something that will sound silly iykwim.

Thanks for sharing Your thoughts. Any further suggestions along similar lines or am I doing ok (don't get me started if it's a boy....) Grin

All are lovely.

I think Imogen is a fabulous name, but acording to MN it's relaly popular. I only know of one in RL, and have never actually met her.

Charlotte is DH's favorite girls name, and the only way I could use it is to have Lottie as a nn.

I really like all girls names with an a at each end, so of course I think Annabella is lovley. Smile

proudfoot · 17/11/2011 20:46

Love Imogen and Charlotte. Annabelle quite nice although a bit "princessy" IMO - just Anna is nicer.

lurkinginthebackground · 17/11/2011 22:50

I like them all.

SausagedogplusVera · 18/11/2011 20:06

All are nice except i don't like annabella with the A instead of a E. However Annabelle/Annabella and Charlotte are rather common.
