A name like Tabitha, that isn't Tabitha!

Hi

Expecting in 3 weeks. We already have a Polly. We loved the name Tabitha for our 2nd child until we moved to the country, and found there are loads here already.

So we're looking for something that is of a similar ilk and I was wondering if you had any suggestions?

What I like about Tabitha is that it ends in an 'a', but that is not essential. Also we can't have another name beginning with 'P'!

THanks for any ideas!

I have a Tabitha, we also had Clementine (snap Snapespeare!) and Meriel on our list.

We have a Tabitha, and I also love Sylvia, it's SUCH a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning.

Also Cordelia.

oh, also forgot Elspeth. I love this, and I think it is quite like Tabitha. Nice nickname Elspie too.

Polly and Elspeth.

I sort of bracket Tabitha with Jemima-not sure why-probably Beatrix Potter.

Tanith?

We had Polly on our shortlist for DD2 but plumped for Jemima in the end - so maybe we have the same sort of mindset? FYI dd1 is called Harriet (Hattie) - Polly and Hattie are great together!

Agatha with Taggie for short.

persephoneplum · 12/11/2011 12:42

I adore Tabitha and think Beatrix is right up the same alley. That said, I think you should stick with Tabitha.

persephoneplum · 12/11/2011 12:46

For me Ramona and Beatrix are gorgeous and a tad mischievous like Polly and Tabitha are.

otisreading · 12/11/2011 13:05

Abra, Bibiana.

Thumbwitch · 12/11/2011 13:10

Kitty.
OK, doesn't end in an 'a' but still. It's the first name that sprang to mind.Grin

Matilda is hugely popular as well, isn't it? I mean it is where I am (Australia) - I know 3 under 5 already!

I like Harriet/Hattie...

Tanita? Anyone remember Tanita Tikaram, the singer?
I always think Natasha has a similiar aspirate sound to Tabitha.

Telsa, I remember her. Very deep voice, very impressive looker.
Tanith is another name similar - pretty unusual without being strange.

hester · 14/11/2011 13:33

Hey, I met Tanita Tikaram in a lesbian bar in Paris Grin
She was still looking good.

Tiana is quite similar to Tabitha I think. We have a Tiana, a Clementine (Clemmie) and a Kitty :) I like Ramona too.
