Your ideas on names to go with Ruby

HaveToWearHeels · 10/11/2011 23:05

discussing baby names with DH tonight, little premature as not due for months but DD was named Ruby at 20 week scan so want to have one ready.
I mentioned Edie, DH almost choked on the suggestion, said it was an old ladys name !!!
I thought it went well Ruby !!
What do you lot think ? Is it that bad ? If it is what do you suggest.
We have Jack for a boy after my Dad and my Grandad.
Oh and we have a really long, annoying surname that you always have to spell and is always pronounced wrongly.

peanutbuttercupcake · 12/11/2011 11:36

haunted i thinK OP already has a DD called Ruby! lovely name IMO

Towndon · 12/11/2011 11:54

Ruby is a lovely name :)

What did your DH think of the suggestions?

HaveToWearHeels · 12/11/2011 21:45

thanks for your in put haunted much appreciated. I understand you may think it is common but DH and I love it and know no other girls with that name !

Towndon I suggested Elsie, Alice and Cora and much to my suprise he loved Cora. If it is a little girl it will have my Nan's middle name which was May. So I think we may have our name, until he realises that it is a character in Downton Abbey lol.....a fact I forgot to mention :)

Thanks for the update OP! Glad you've found a name you both like :)

(Downton Abbey has finished now hasn't it?)

HaveToWearHeels · 13/11/2011 15:09

Towndon yes it has now finished much to DH relief lol. There is a Christmas special I believe :)
