Just noticed as I have been subjected to these recently (dd going through a phase, I hope it's a phase). Interested me as I thought it quite a trendy rather than Barbie-ish name (like Hadley, Blair and Janessa).

There are Barbie FILMS? Thanks for watching them so we don't have to.

MerryMarigold · 02/11/2011 21:36

Some of them aren't too bad actually. Real fairy tales. The 12 dancing princesses is good! I got ds1 one when he was 5 and now dd is 3 she watches it every day.

Hell, I have three dds. The oldest barbie obsessed, dd2 called Isla. I hate barbie and am trying to deny her existance, but when dd1 finds this out, she's gonna be pissed!

Hmm, see I don't think of Isla as a trendy name as I went to school with one and I'm nearly 38. I am aware that it is popular now, but still, it feels like an old name to me.

Isla has suddenly become popular, so I do think of it as faddy.

angelicamen · 06/11/2011 11:55

Of course Isla is faddy. Nice name tho..

Towndon · 06/11/2011 13:59

Iona and Ianthe are nice names, and not overused :)
