Clara Madeleine or Penelope Charlotte?

Me vs DH Smile

We're probably not going to decide until our baby is here, but I'd love some opinions on which is nicer.

I love the name Penelope! I would personally go for a shorter MN, but Penelope would be my first name choice.

Definitely Clara Madeleine - very elegant. Not a fan of Penelope and it will probably be shortened to Penny which am also not keen on.

Clara Madeleine is lovely.

Every time I see Penelope though, I remember how my Nana used to pronounce it: Peen-a-low-p Grin and cant get past that.

A vote here for Clara Madeleine. Though Penelope is gorgeous, I think it would get shortened to Penny, which is not in the same league at all.

I love Penelope and Clara so a combination of the two would be lovely. Penelope Clara would probably be my choice.

FWIW Penelope doesn't necessarily get shortened to Penny. Nell is a great nn for Penelope (or even Pip/Poppy etc).

I like your middle names better than your first names and would go for Madeleine Charlotte.
Out of your first names I like Clara better than Penelope though.

I prefer Clara Madeleine. When I was little, I didn't know how Penelope was said in a book I had and pronounced it in my head as 'Penlop'. For some reason it still looks like an ugly name to me. I like Charlotte though. Any combination of Clara, Charlotte and Madeleine would be lovely.
