Felix, Wilbur, Hector, Woody.....

I think we have been around the houses and through enough books to have whittled it down to the above shortlist and I am happy with the Felix-cat, Wilbur-pig, Hector-to bully, Woody-toy story comments that we have thought about (or others have kindly pointed out)!! But are there any other names I may somehow have overlooked.
We also liked Toby, Jonty, Monty and Hugh at various points...
We have an unusual difficult to spell surname and are both quite outdoorsy and sporty so are assuming that DS2 will be as well. (DS1 is a rugby loving mud soaked child....)
I have a week to go and am just not 100% on any of the names so any help appreciated.

Love Hugh and Monty. Not keen on Hector (nickname Heck ) or Woody (erection, sorry). How about Thaddeus, Quentin or Marcus?

We were thinking of Edward for Woody. Then if the child thinks we are bonkers later on he has a "normal" name to revert back to. Felix I don't think we would need to shorten or Hector and for Wilbur we would use Wilb or Wil(l) again if necessary..Although I know there is no guarantee what other children/people will call him!

Felix is lovely. We're thinking of Tabitha, so I'm over the cat association too!

Woody is a stiffy, but Toy Story makes it more normal and heard-of, and I think having it as a nn for Edward is a brilliant idea. We have a Betty nn for Beatrice for exactly the same reason.

My brother used to call his willy his wilbur, which ruins an otherwise lovely name for me!

Edward is very nice but it's not pronounced Ed-wood so I think Woody is stretching it a bit.

Must be my pronunciation I say Edward to rhyme with wood! Um being outdoorsy means to me a muddy boy name rather than an arty/musical name (works in my head).
What about Herbie? Todays addition to the list...

I say Ed-wuhd too. Edward Woodward wouldn't work if it wasn't for the assonance. Plus, I like out of the box diminutives. My Beatrice is Betty.

A last minute change and we went for Digby in the end!

That is a great name! My favorite teacher at school had a son called Digby. It is a fine strong name. And big conratulations on a safe arrival into the world!
