It was Cara, which I love, but then I heard Cora, on Downton Abbey last night and thought what a nice name Cora is.

Thoughts much appreciated.

Not Cara. It's on my shortlist Grin Grin

I love Cora. Would name a DD it any day. But DH vetoed it on the grounds of "apple core-a" and "oh Cora blimey". So Cara is safer from idiotic teasing perhaps (but a bit less old and charming in my head). I see Cora as turn-of-the-century-folksy-chic (was there one in Little House On The Prarie?!) and Cara as more modern and European (has a Mediterean ring to me).

I like Carla, too, if you're going down the Italian route. Under-used and Carla Bruni-Sarkosy is pretty chic.

Thanks. I don't like the name Carla, as much as Cara.

I do like Cora, but I think Cara is safer.
