  1. Does not end in the sound 'ee' e.g. Harry
  2. Does not begin with a 'H' or 'O'
  3. Does not have the sound 'r' anywhere at the beginning e.g. Robin, or within it e.g. Harry! ...Not the letter here, the sound. So think if somebody can't say the say the sound, E.g. Martha is fine, as is Asher..., but Rowan would be Wowan, and Harry would be Hawwy
  4. Preferably 5 or 6 letters long
  5. Preferably 2 or 3 syllables
  6. Nice meaning e.g. beauty, light, peace... or nature related!

Anybody any ideas that I might not have thought of............??

I meant to add... can't end in 'O' sound due to surname, otherwise would love Willow! Also love Clover, but too close to DS's name. Not keen on Calla, not very good connotations, same with Hazel unfortunately. Blossom I like, but close friend has one, as with Heath. I love Leif, but unsure could get away with it!
How is Gaia pronounced?
Not keen on Basil or Linden
Love Jasper, but DH said no.
Oh and also, I'd like it to have good nn potential!
On the right lines though, thank you! Keep them coming!

Tabitha - fab - on our list! :-)
Paloma - also great, but what for a nn?
I like Lucien - DH vetoed
Never heard of Noam - where's it from? And is it pronounced as it looks? No-am? Interesting!

Offspring · 16/09/2011 23:17

Sorry, ignore the suggestion of Owen - forgot the no 'O' stipulation.
