"I don't think girls with boys names have a harder life than those with girls names. I know a female Jamie and Alex who both had 'normal' childhhoods and are very comfortable in their adult lives. Bit of a silly suggestion. "

Jamie and Alex aren't exactly the most masculine names. I think a girl named Steve or Gavin would probably have a tougher time Smile.

I wasn't sure who Mischa Barton was but I have now googled her. She has a nice handbag range.
I don't think Mumsnet users represent a very broad section of society at all. I do like to hear different takes on things and find it quite interesting how wildly different peoples opinions on here can be compared to the 'real world'. Some people however clearly think their opinion is the 'be all and end all'. Annoying but entertaining!

I don't know what your point is, cat64? I did ask, yes, and I'm glad I did because like I've said I enjoy hearing different opinions. I haven't taken offence to anything anyone has said although I do find some peoples comments slightly amusing, but I like to laugh so no problems with that! It's only a name, only a forum, no need to be defensive!
Will be moving on from this now because it's not a name I'm considering and as I only have 2 weeks to go I need to focus on finding names I like!!!

Well I like it.

Stoirin · 16/09/2011 21:00

its not an opinion though, thats the point, its a fact. Is robert a boys name? Is nigel? Is that just your opinion? No, they are boys names and so is Mischa.

lchodge · 16/09/2011 23:59

Stoirin.....please get off your high horse and get a grip.
It's just a name.

Yes. A boys name. How is stating a fact being on a "high horse"? Confused

The only Mischa I have met (although I have heard of Mischa Barton also) is female. I think it may have been short for Michelle but suits her very well. She is very pretty and feminine, not at all cossack-like. It is a lovely name.

lchodge · 17/09/2011 14:29

Stoirin was ranting in both his/her posts. I asked for opinions not arguments and hostility. I also don't think he/she needs you, cat64, to jump in and repeat what has already been said. Bit 'school playground-ish'.
Not interested. Goodbye.

Mischa = Hannibal Lecter's sister who was killed and eaten, he was haunted by images of her 'baby teeth in the stool pit'

That's my association.

lchodge · 17/09/2011 14:43

didn't know that miss scarlett! thanks, lol :)

I have read the books and seen the films and never taken that bit of information in! Blimey. Wouldn't stop me using a name I liked though.

Hannibal on the other hand, I would steer clear from, as I would Damien or Chucky. :)

Not rising to your bait. I'll say this once more, cat64:

thats not ranting, you very strange and defensive person. If you don't want opinions and facts, don't post.

lchodge · 17/09/2011 18:40

Stoirin, please refer to my previous post and substitute "cat64" for "stoirin".
