A name like Ava

I really love the name Ava, however my DD has two middle names and this is one of them! I don't feel I can use it, so can anyone suggest any names silmilar to Ava? The other name I really liked was Eliza but again my DDs other middle name is Elizabeth so I can't really use that either.

I would use Eliza.

IMHO it stands as a name in it's own right and it might be nice for your DD's to have a name connection.

Anna

Vita

Nina

Nia

Eimhir - Pronounced Ay-ver, very unusual Gaelic name (I quite like it)
Aveline - I know a grown-up Aveline, she is lovely x

If you like names ending with a I have a few for you. My cousins are Taya and Pria (Pree ya) and we just called our baby girl Kayla, my step daughter is Leanna.

Thanks so much for you suggestions, I don't get time to get on here much.
No, the name doesn't have to end with a.

Collision - I also think it might be nice to have a name connection, but it is impossible to know how they will both feel about it when older. I wouldn't want either to be put out by it in some way. Confused

My DP likes Abigail, keeps going back to it but I am not keen. Hmm

Anaia?

Lara, or Laura.

I really like Eva as it was my great-aunts name. Might use it if I ever have another dd

My DH has his older brother's middle name as his first name. Apart from the occasional good-humoured jibe to wind up his parents about having his brother's "reject name" or being too lazy to think of another name for him, he doesn't care at all and his older bro doesn't either. His parents just say they loved both names so much they wanted to use both on their first in case they didn't have another son (as it happened they had 3 boys in total, and no they didn't recycle DH's middle name for his younger brother!)

I like Eva, Asha & Ayesha which are similar.

I love the idea of a name connection between sisters. You could give DD2 DD1's first name as one of her middle names. I bet they'd think that was great!

Jezabelle · 06/10/2011 16:02

Oh, or Isla.

Kaekae · 09/10/2011 17:04

Jezabelle that is quite a sweet idea. They would probably think I was a crazy mother when they're older! Grin

Can't have Lara, we have a four year old niece with this name.

I have heard Moravia shortened to Ava, Avia, or Mo-mo. As a teenager it could also be Rave, I expect!

What about Avery, like Alec Baldwin's squeeze in 30 Rock?
