From boys I like Ewan and opposed to Iwan as I'm unsure of the spelling...

From girls I like Imogen and Hannah.

TheNationalTruss · 13/09/2011 10:10

Hannah's a beautiful name.

I'm not familiar with Iwan (is it pronounced like Ewan?) and the others are all a bit meh. But they're not glaringly terrible or offensive, just not to my taste.

welshhouse · 13/09/2011 10:14

Iwan is the welsh spelling of Ewan.

Iwan - is nice but also really like Ieuan and Ioan. (sooty Ewan is the scottish from Euan, Iwan is the welsh/cornish)
Evan - I like it also like Ifan
Isaac - Nope
Ava - I like
Imogen - not a fan
Hannah - I like
Freya - don't like

SpanglyGiraffe · 13/09/2011 10:17

I think Ava & Imogen are beautiful.

From the boys i like Isaac & Evan, although they're not to my taste!

diddl · 13/09/2011 10:20

Isaac,
Imogen,
Hannah,
Freya.

LydiaWickham · 13/09/2011 10:26

Evan and Freya.

Ihavewelliesbutitssunny · 13/09/2011 11:02

I like Iwan but I hthink that you have to be Welsh really to use it otherwise use Ewan.

I like Isaac too, nice classic, not too popular name.

I think that Ava is just too popular and will date.

I like Imogen slighly unusual and like the nickname Immi

Hannah is a strong classic girls name but quite popular.

Not that keen on Freya, don't really like the sound.

My favourites from your list are Iwan/Ewan and Imogen

Ihavewelliesbutitssunny · 13/09/2011 11:04

oops read Evan as Ewan. Quite like Evan but prefer Ewan

LaTristesse · 13/09/2011 11:10

Iwan - prefer Ewen, don't particularly like either though
Evan - my fave from your list
Isaac - quite popular now, but I do still like it
Ava - don't like
Imogen - my fave from your girls list
Hannah - timeless and lovely
Freya - too popular for me these days

kat2504 · 13/09/2011 11:13

Evan and Hannah or Imogen. I quite like Ava too.

Jerseyellie · 13/09/2011 11:19

Hi my sons (4 mths) middle name is Evan so I like that!! In fact all your girls names were on my shortlist so I think you have great taste!! Like Imogen the best.

lurkinginthebackground · 13/09/2011 22:58

I like Iwan best for a boy.
I like all the girl's names but in order:
Imogen
Ava
Hannah
Freya.

Kyrie · 13/09/2011 23:07

Iwan - I'm unsure how to pronounce it, I like Euan a lot though.
Evan - Nice but a bit bland
Isaac - Not keen on the biblical name so least favourite.

Girls:

Ava - i like it a lot but it's very now so will likely date so wouldn't use it myself.
Imogen - I really dislike it, don't like Immy for a nickname either.
Hannah - Bit dull, Anna is nicer
Freya - Lovely - strong and feminine

suspiria · 13/09/2011 23:18

My favourites are Isaac and Imogen

welshhouse · 14/09/2011 11:28

Quite mixed opinions then. I thought Iwan would be quite easy to pronounce but it seems that a few people have been unsure from looking at the spelling. I really am struggling to choose between them. If anyone has any more suggestions I would be grateful. :)

I like Isaac but my bf has just called her baby it

And Ava but I'm having a boy

anewmotivatedme · 16/09/2011 14:03

I love them all.

anewmotivatedme · 16/09/2011 14:06

welshhouse - re Iwan, it depends where you live, I live in N Wales (Wrexham), and have a friend called Iwan and I don't think spelling / pronounciation has ever been a problem.

lchodge · 19/09/2011 12:24

Evan for a boy, Ava or Hannah for a girl. Some suggestions:

Ethan
Ada
Eva
Anna
ELiza

Ebb · 19/09/2011 12:42

I like Isaac and I like all your girls names but prefer Hannah, Freya, Imogen and Ava in that order.

mathanxiety · 19/09/2011 15:49

I like Isaac and Ava.

Iwan is nice but could be mistaken for E European Ivan.
I prefer the Euan spelling over Ewan (Ewwww associations).

Hannah seems a bit dated to me -- Anna sounds much more classic yet at the same time up to the minute [contradictory].
Freya is lovely but very popular.
Imogen I do not get at all, can't see the appeal of this name.

CollieandPup · 19/09/2011 17:21

Love Isaac-it's on my list Smile.

Like Ava and then Freya. Not so keen on Imogen, but Hannah is nice.

Etaoin · 19/09/2011 18:47

Like Isaac the best out of the boys names. The girls names are all nice but quiet popular. Some suggestions:

Girls
Lana as is the movie actress Lana Turner
Isolde
Ayla

Boys
Jacob
Owen
Liam

Etaoin xx
