Arghhhh boys names!

I think its so hard to choose a boys name! This is ds3 & im really stuck! The only names we both agree on (kind of) are Theo & Max, I love Cole, Reuben & Carter, but our surname ends in er so Carter would be a bit of a mouth full & my husband doesnt like the other suggestions!....He likes Alfie (know a few dogs called Alfie, puts me off, although its a lovely name), Isaac, but we have a friend with a son called Isaac. This is so difficult!...

What are your other children called?

MadHatter302 · 31/08/2011 13:14

I completely sympathise with you! I'm currently expecting my fourth ds and have used up all of my favourite names Confused. If you like Theo how about Theodore with the nn Ted? Also if you don't mind what are the names of your first two sons? This might help with suggestions if we know what other names you have decided on.

Ellis & Finn like you we have used our favourites already!....My husband also loves Edward but its quite a traditional name & doesn't seem to go!..

I love Ted, but not sure he will thank me for it when he is a teenager!....Maybe im overthinking!....

Edward know as Ned/Teddy? That would work with your other sons' names. Also if you like Isaac how about Elijah/Eli?

MadHatter302 · 31/08/2011 13:18

You could also use Ted with Edward, then when he's older he has more options to be known by

MsChanandlerBong · 31/08/2011 13:19

I think Theo and/or Max go well with your first two sons names.

Other suggestions:
Leo
Milo
Zachary
Toby

m1nn1em0u5e · 31/08/2011 13:20

Hmm good point, dh has already suggested Ned, which I disregarded, but would suit an older boy! Think Ted sounds so cute for a baby, toddler..Think Eli is too similar to Ellis, although a lovely name :)

So it is! That wasn't a very well thought out suggestion from me!

m1nn1em0u5e · 31/08/2011 13:22

I love Zac, but my brother had a Zac in July!..I also have suggested Milo & Toby but dh is not so keen. Leo is nice, haven't thought about that one.

Leo/Leon
Arlo
Jake

EightiesChick · 31/08/2011 13:53

I like Theo and it goes well with your other names so if you both agree on that, it's the one I'd pick.

LadyBoy · 31/08/2011 14:14

Theo is perfect.

Cereal · 31/08/2011 15:19

Theo and Max are both nice. Other suggestions...

Liam
Samuel/Sam
Frederick/Freddie
Dylan
James
Lewis
Jerome
Aaron
Nathaniel/Nat
Joel
Jacob/Jake
Aidan

Thanks Cereal!..I have a huge family & about 40 cousins who are mostly having babies/or have children, so a lot of names have been used already!..We want a name that anybody we know already doesn't have!..so 7 of your suggestions have already been used, thats what makes things so difficult!

I think Theo & Edward/Ted/Ned is the shortlist so far (maybe Max)!....Thanks for all your help ladies, this has really helped me lots!....

m1nn1em0u5e · 01/09/2011 09:02

4madboys! What similar tastes we have!..I do like Max, but not sure I love it enough!..

Love all your names, we have a close friend with a son called Dylan & he is lovely. My ds Finn, was almost a Lucas too!..Both my boys were nameless for the first 3 days while we decided if they suited what we had chosen before we announced their name to the everybody!..

nameless for three days is nothing, mine were all nameless for at least a week, some for over two weeks!

good luck and let us know what you choose :)

I think there are some really lovely traditional Irish names for boys. I love Cian and Cillian. :)
