hi all,
What do you think of the name India for a little girl?
I usually prefere more classic English names, not into calling children sky, apple etc, anyway since iv come across India I love it, but dont want it to be a name people laugh at.
Honest opinions please

And if u have any ideas what goes well with it as a middle name I'd appreciate it Surname is 2 syllables starting with H.

Thank you xx

Really like this and I love very english names like Eliza! Belle, Niaive, sorrel, mae, brie, honey, mia, louvre, as middle names?

My very honest opinion is that it's very current and will therefore date. But, if that doesn't bother you, then go for it.

I would avoid Rose as a middle name, though - India Rose is just too predictable.

Someone suggested Indra upthread - which is actually a boy's name. Indira is a female alternative.

I have a (white) relative called India, she spent her early school years being called P*ki by her school mates & the usual cornershop/curry kids jokes.

I don't think it's a good name for anything other than a country, sorry!

Thank you for all ur input :) I met a lady today who's niece is called India - apparently the only negative comments or "Paki" jokes have come from adults, rather than children who she goes to school with! Which is shocking but good to know the younger generation are not as ignorant as ours :)
