What do you think?

Erin and joel

I like Eddie but not Jessica. I still think of sweet valley high lol

BerthaLovelyBertha · 28/08/2011 12:17

Yes, I think Erin and Joel are my favourite too. Do you think is well enough known? I'd like to choose something that people will be able to spell.

I love Joel. Not so sure on others i'm afraid.

DoMeDon · 28/08/2011 12:23

Erin maybe - not the rest - sorry

BerthaLovelyBertha · 28/08/2011 12:25

Hmm. Mixed responses now.

I suppose whatever I chose would get mixed responses though.

Do you know any little ones called Erin, Jessica, Joel or Freddy?

I think both Erin and Joel are easy to spell. They way you have aptly Eddie is slightly less common IMO.

I love Joel though, it remains my absolute favourite x

Kayano · 28/08/2011 12:32

Just realised it's Freddy not Eddie! Reading fail! Apologies. I dont like Freddy as much lol

MetalSian · 28/08/2011 12:34

I hate Erin.
But a the end of the day, choose what name you like.
It is your child =].

BerthaLovelyBertha · 28/08/2011 12:46

metal Out of interest, what about Erin don't you like?

Jessica and Freddy :)

Kirstle · 28/08/2011 13:32

All four names are nice.

Jessica remains v v popular, I know 5 Jessica's ranging from 25 down to birth...
Erin is a lovely Irish name. Very simple and elegant.
Freddy - would you be using Frederick on BC? I think I prefer it spelled Freddie. It has a charming feel to it.
Joel, nothing not to like...good, strong biblical name, I think Joel was a prophet :)

breadandhoney · 28/08/2011 13:33

Erin and Joel. Lovely names :)

BerthaLovelyBertha · 28/08/2011 13:39

Yes, if we went for Freddy it would be Frederick on the birth certificate. I hadn't thought of spelling it Freddie, I'll ask DH what he thinks about Freddy/Freddie.

Prefer Joel to Freddy, for me Freddy is only a nn.
Jessica for a girl.

hairylights · 28/08/2011 14:19

Love Erin, hate Jessica.

brodanbell · 28/08/2011 17:28

Erin and Joel.
Jessica is too sickly sweet for me. Freddy is not a name I am keen on.
Have you considered Erica for a girl if you like Erin?

Only know an adult Joel and a colleague has an Erin but that's it. Not very common I'd say.

pointydog · 28/08/2011 17:44

Erin and Joe

OriginalPoster · 28/08/2011 17:50

Freddy was a character in a horror film, I think. Both the girls names are lovely. Joel or Joe is a good one too.

iskra · 28/08/2011 20:01

Erin is in the top 50 I think, but you don't meet many. I like it.

survivingsummer · 28/08/2011 21:00

Erin and Freddy would be my choice.

Freddy is a really cool name IMO!

I can't say that I love the name Erin but prefer it to Jessica. Another poster suggested Erica which I love and which is much more underused if that is important to you? I know at least 5 baby Erin's at the moment!

manicinsomniac · 28/08/2011 21:18

I have a 4 year old Jessica. Don't know any others younger than 9. Obviously I love it.

I like Erin too. I only know one, also aged 4.

Not keen on Joel really. I know an adult one but no kids.

Freddy has grown on me but is very popular around here at least.

I'd go for Freddy and Jessica

ticklebumpkin · 28/08/2011 21:22

Love Joel.

Biased on Jessica as it's my best friend's name plus the name of a lovely little girl I'm close to, so for me it has good connotations.

I want to like Erin - but I think it's a bit harsh and can't put my finger on why.

Tonksforthememories · 28/08/2011 21:23

Erin and Joel. My Ds is Joel so i'm very biased, but despite being top 100 I still don't hear his name that often! He's 2 next month.

SkiBumMum · 29/08/2011 16:37

I don't think Jessica is sickly at all. Jessica Ennis is a fab role model too.

MetalSian · 29/08/2011 21:35

Sorry Bertha I disappeared from yesterday.
I knew an Erin who I hated xD, maybe that influences my choice.

But I still don't like it anyway, even with that put aside.
I think it is very harsh, and just generally don't like the sound of it =].
