Is Willa too insane? I love it.

goinnowhere, I rather like Heater as a name, very warm sounding... Wink

A lovely lovely list! Smile

Willa
Cora
Hester

in preference order but it is tricky!

Flowerface · 24/08/2011 10:28

OK -what about Doris? Would this be an act of child cruelty or is it strangely cool?

My grandma was called Hester, invariably pronounced as 'ester. I spent years thinking her name was Esther as a result! Was quite disappointed to find out there was an interloping H... (Still prefer Esther)

Cora appears to be having a surge of popularity on mumsnet at the moment.

I love it and am trying to persuade DH.

I would say Cora.

Sorry second post :) Funny someone should be mentioning Elsa as well. DH's German grandmother was Else (pronounced the same as Elsa) and my aforementioned grandma Hester's middle name was Kate: if DC1 had turned out to be a girl, she'd have been called Else Kate (though it might have changed to Elsa Kate for ease of British folk!)

Still like the name a lot. DS doesn't have the same 'trip off the tongue' as this.

minipie · 24/08/2011 11:15

Please, please not Doris. Please.

Flowerface · 24/08/2011 11:20

Really? I really wanted 'Dora'. But find Theodora/Isadora a bit long and flowery. I had my heart set on Pandora, but everyone took the piss so mercilessly that I gave up...

What's wrong with just Dora? (Apart from the endless Explorer comments) I think it's a name by itself, isn't it?

going · 24/08/2011 11:33

I really like the name Hester, probably becasue I know a lovely Hester. DOn't like the others.

Flowerface · 24/08/2011 11:34

I think Hester and Elsa are too similar sounding, thinking about it.

what about Serina?

Pudden · 24/08/2011 13:52

Sylvie?

Haberdashery · 24/08/2011 14:08

Dora is very sweet but Dora the Explorer would put me off. Cora is pretty. Hester is gorgeous. Willa is lovely (and unusual, too).

TrompetteMilitaire · 24/08/2011 14:09

Hester is great.

TrompetteMilitaire · 24/08/2011 14:10

PS Hester and Elsa don't sound anything like one another!

SE13Mummy · 24/08/2011 15:08

I know a Willa and, as far as I know, she doesn't get called Willy! It's my favourite from your list (I prefer Esther to Hester and can't help but think of apples when I hear the name CoraBlush).

Flowerface · 24/08/2011 17:40

What about Dorothy?
