I had a thrill of excitement when I saw this in the baby name book today, before that it was an old lady name!
What do you think?
Ooh think I might use it regardless... even if baby is a boy :o
I kid, I kid.
I think :o

I prefer Verity too.

Beautiful name - go for it!

Verity, although it is a PCOS charity :)

LOVE it! Smile

I like it, and think of it as a Russian or Eastern European name. It sort of belongs with Cora too, in my mind, so I associate it with Irish ladies of a certain age. Nicer than Cora though imo. And far nicer than Verity, which I consider very twee quite twee.

Love it. DD1 has Veronica as a middle name, and has recently said she wishes that was her first name instead. First name is in top 10, always will be, and sometimes I wish we'd had the guts to use something a bit more unusual.

Go for it, it's lovely.

eeeeyoooow. When people ask "what do you mean by try hard?' this is it!! Vera is trying very hard to be different.

I like it. It was my nana's name, a lovely dignified lady. I would use it. Verity is an awful name Grin

At the moment (but for how long - who can predict?) it is an old lady name but I LOVE it because of a heroine of mine - Vera Brittain, a writer, feminist and pacifist born in 1893.

She wrote a memoir of her experiences in WW1 which began when she was 21. It affectedly me deeply when I read it, being about the same age at the time.
This is info about her en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vera_Brittain
I highly recommend the book and the name Vera!

My DD is a Verity and we always get nice comments about the name - there aren't any others that we know. I like Vera too - I can imagine a very cute little girl!
