Need a name for baby boy

buterflies · 12/08/2011 17:43

I need a name for a baby boy but I dont want one that is in the top 100 and dont want it beginning with A as DS1 name begins with A.

I am struggling so much, I dont like names such as Alfie as it is a nick name for Alfred.
I quite like Theo but dont like Theodore.

I want a slightly unusual name without being too off the wall.

I prefer the classic names, I really dont like modern ones such as Mackenzie or Tyler. (Apologies to anyone who loves these names but hey we cant all be the same)

Please help

I'm not sure where these are on the Top 100, but how about:

Rupert, Benedict, Dominic, Lysander, Christian, Ferdinand, Inigo, Marcus?

As already suggested like under used classics like Dominic, Christian, Gregory, Marcus.

In that style, what about Peter, Nicholas, Richard, Julian, Saul, Guy

Slightlier quirkier but still 'normal' I like Howard, Donald, Victor

buterflies · 12/08/2011 21:24

I like Nathaniel, like Xavier but DP wont allow it! Also like Christian.

I am still looking for that name that jumps out at me though...

JiltedJohnsJulie · 13/08/2011 11:50

Grin at Instant. Can't get more classical and unique than Zebedee surely?

buterflies · 13/08/2011 22:58

lol, I like it, not too sure DP will approve but hey made me smile :)

Sorry to be a spoil sport but I met a Zebedee on our last holiday (in UK). But perhaps I am just jealous because all my DC have boring top 10 common names.

WeekendsAreTooShort · 13/08/2011 23:05

FaintlyMacabre · 13/08/2011 23:05

I think you'll find Nathaniel is quite popular.

buterflies · 14/08/2011 12:58

First DS is Alexander and I would think John is popular. Maybe I am being too picky. I know a Laurie, not short for anything thats quite nice.

So far
Theo
Christian
Nathaniel
