Prefer Lucian.

Nice name (and much nicer and less overused than Luke imo!) but it does remind me of Lucifer.

I love it but it has drawbacks. Older boys may think it sissy (you would have to ask some to be sure), it's a character in Harry Potter and the HP stories are going nowhere, they are cultural staples now, and the most obvious shortening is to Lucy- a girls name.

It gets an 8.5 out of 10 from me but my DP won't budge.
Unfortunately he has no other suggestions and seems to have lost all his imagination when he does come up with some.

Renaissance mine is exactly the same! So far he's come up with Rio, Harvey and Ronnie...... He hates all of mine except Dillon and Max, which are ok. Just an unenthusiastic ok. Shame he can't come up with any other allegedly better suggestions!

Glad it's not just me with that problem harassedandherbug!! Mine has come up with Byron, Kevin, and Tim BUT nothing else and everything I suggest is a NO!
