Sorry but to me Sadie reminds me of 'sadism'! Also big Beatles fans here so wouldn't feel comfortable with the 'Sexy Sadie' - which is the only place I have ever come across the name apart from these message boards.

Ada is a no no - sounds too like AID(S) and therefore open to name-calling/bullying. (I am a primary school teacher BTW.)

I like Hope and Mae (Mae West - what a fantastic namesake!).

Sadie is lovely.I think of it as a very Scottish name,but not exclusively so,rather than American.
