What could 'Dilly' be short for?

I met a little girl called Dilly a few years ago, and always thought it was sweet.

Delia? Or something else?

We have a guinea pig called Delilah and she gets called Dilly for short.

I know a girl called Dearbhla,and she gets called Dilly. Or Dervla/Dervela?

My friend's little girl is called Dilani, Dilly for short.

Cordelia. And it's a brill name if you ask me.

There's a girl in DS1's class called Dilly - her full name is Drusilla.

DD3 is Cordelia Dylan known as Dylan which is also Dilly at times Either Cordelia or Dylan would work

dillian apparently derives from the latin for worshipped and is not a modern invention

or if your really cruel brave you might feminize dilbert and consider dilberta /dilbertine

My niece is known as Dilly - her name is Danielle. It transpired from 'Dilly Dolly Daydream' - she was a bit of a daydreamer as a youngster - so chilled out :)

I knew a female Dilly who was Delith or Dilith (you'd have to check Welsh sp/pronun not sure I'm remembering it correctly! When said outloud it was lovely though

Dylan for a girl is lovely. I odn't usually like putting boys names on girls though.

My Adele is Delly for short. I was in a play bit and the woman next to me had a dd the same age. I was calling 'Delly', she was calling 'Dolly', so I asked her what Dolly was short for. Nothing. Her dd's name was Dolly. Hmmm.
