Very nice :)

Sidge · 18/07/2011 13:33

Mmm, no.

Looks like it's missing something and doesn't 'go' with Daisy.

SardineQueen · 18/07/2011 13:44

I think ayah is a word meaning nursemaid / nanny in other countries?

That was what I thought of anyway.

SardineQueen · 18/07/2011 13:45

Oh here you go, it also means a verse from the Koran.

I know it's a different spelling but I think the pronounciation is the same.

Sounds a bit made-up to me -and a bit like 'hiya' as in "Hiya, Daisy!!"

mamsnet · 18/07/2011 14:06

Listen to DELHI.

freerangeeggs · 18/07/2011 21:52

'AYA' is what my dad/brothers/other male relatives say when they hurt themselves

I think it is short for 'aaagh ya bastard'

It is a strange name

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 18/07/2011 21:54

Hiya Aya
Nah, sounds odd

LisMcA · 18/07/2011 21:57

Aya in scotland is what you say when you stub your toe or hammer your finger, said harshly a'la Billy Connelly.

However, it sounds nice when said softly.

Friends DD is Maya (May-a not my-a) for something similar but notConfused myself there!

prudaloo · 18/07/2011 22:04

Nope

GwendolineMaryLacey · 18/07/2011 22:05

I'd think you'd lost an 'n' (Anya)

mathanxiety · 18/07/2011 23:03

Like it a lot. I know sisters of Egyptian descent whose names are Ana and Aya.

TillyIpswitch · 19/07/2011 01:15

I know of an Ayah, which has African roots, and means bright/twinkling

NettoSuperstar · 19/07/2011 01:17

It sounds like a noise, rather than a name.

EricNorthmansMistressOfPotions · 19/07/2011 16:00

Aya Daisy doesn't go, the Aya looks like it's not finished, maybe Ayah would be better? But not with Daisy. It sounds a bit wishy washy to be honest. What does it mean?
