I love it - its so pretty and one of my favourite girls names.

Oh now I want another DD so I can call her Annie. Absolutely adore the movie.

And they say names are cyclical roughly 90 years, so bang on cue, Nancy and Annie are back in fashion.

I like them both. It may be mere fashion but can't help being influenced by it.

1944girl, yeah, don't blame your mum, although I love Annie/Nancy now, I was at school with a girl called Nancy and I remember thinking 'poor her what a weird name'. And until about five years ago, Annie was just Annie Sugden from Emerdale Farm. I have finally managed to move past that. maybe the actress who played her is dead!

Gorgeous.

Annie sounds like a maid to me! Probably because my DSSs long-standing nanny was called Annie.

Seriously, I think Anna (which is my name) is a lot more versatile and elegant.

exoticfruits · 16/07/2011 07:15

I like it but would be inclined to have it as the nickname.

I love Annie. I really wanted to use it for one of the dc, but dh has red hair, and felt it would be unfair to have a red head dd called Annie. Neither are though!
I also really, really love Anne, and would have Anne, nn Annie.
I hate the name Anna, can't put my finger on why, and dislike other Anna/Ana names as well, they sound a bit 'wet' for want of a better word.
But Anne, nn Annie is fabulous!
