I LOVE the name Matilda but my husband hates it, he has encouraged me to post my suggestion on MN to get unbiasted thoughts... what do you all think?!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I am not a big fan I am afraid ,and there are an awful lot of them .

BibiBelle · 06/07/2011 19:29

Pretty and getting more popular - that however shouldn't bother you if you love the name Smile

CharlieBoo · 06/07/2011 19:33

Don't go mad myself... It used to be different when I was pg with my eldest 7 years ago, but they're everywhere now. That might not out you off though. Also, you both have to love the name you choose....

Think it's great. I'm aware it's considered popular on mn but I don't actually know any. Know a Tilly who is just Tilly. Tilda is a great nn

pilates · 06/07/2011 19:53

Think it's a nice name, don't know any either.

MrsRupertBear · 06/07/2011 19:57

I Love the name Matilda. It would definately be a front runner for me the next time around - even though some may say it is getting more popular.

Kveta · 06/07/2011 20:06

are you me?! I adore the name too, have been suggesting it for a while (TTC at the mo). DH hates it though :( it's such a shame, as in his country it is often shortened to Macia (with the 'c' pronounced like 'ts') or to Tila, which I think is very cute indeed for a baby.

I'm now veering towards Lydia or Klaudie. Also love Miriam and Magdalena, but I don't want a religious name, so those will remain on my 'nice, but not for me' list.

PurpleStrawberry · 06/07/2011 21:05

I love the name Matilda.

PrincessJenga · 06/07/2011 21:24

I love it... but if your DH doesn't then what I think doesn't really matter does it?

SloganLogan · 06/07/2011 22:43

I don't like it at all, sorry! It's a name which to me is in the same "harsh" category as Hilda, Brunhilda, Clotilda, Gerda, Griselda.

exoticfruits · 06/07/2011 23:12

I think it is OK, but if DH hates it you have to keep searching until you find one you both like.

duckdodgers · 07/07/2011 00:16

I dont like it, so Im with your DH, sorry.

TillyIpswitch · 07/07/2011 00:55

I can take it or leave it; best friend's DD is Matilda and it's lovely on her.

Moot point though - if your DH hates it it really has to go off the list.

Rhubarbgarden · 07/07/2011 09:25

Everywhere.

Sophiesmummie · 07/07/2011 09:30

I don't like it, sorry.

But who cares what we think. If you dh doesn't like it, then I think you need to find a name you both love.

magicmelons · 07/07/2011 10:35

Love it, but you can't make him choose a name he dislikes.

mayanna123 · 07/07/2011 11:44

Who cares what we think.... YOU and DH have to love your name choice!
