Jeannie!

valiumbandwitch · 09/06/2011 23:08

I'm not just agreeing with the others for the sake of it. I clicked on this to tell you 'Jeannie'.

Geannie doesn't make sense. What name is this short for? What language is that?
Genie (in a bottle)
Geanie - as with Geannie.

I do like Jeannie btw!

DuchessofKirkcaldy · 10/06/2011 00:31

Jeannie. Although I know someone who spells it Jeanne. nice name.

GibberingGinger · 10/06/2011 10:31

When I was a kid, I thought it would be lovely to call a baby Geneva, with the nickname Genie!

definitely would use the spelling Jeannie though now, or maybe Jeanie. The G spelling looks wrong and is maybe more male - as in Gene

tummytickler · 10/06/2011 13:17

I think just Jean with the nn Jeannie. Jean is far more grown up and elegant than Jeannie.

MissHonkover · 10/06/2011 13:34

I'd go Jeanie. Sorry to go against the flow, feel free to ignore me! Smile

PatriciatheStripper · 10/06/2011 13:48

Jean Genie :o

I agree with tummytickler. Jean aka Jeannie.

Gene is really short for Eugene. I know there are females called Gene but I suspect, except where it's short for Eugenie/Eugenia, that it often arises from a misunderstanding. My grandmother's name was Jean, and she occasionally got addressed in writing as Gene.

harrietlichman · 10/06/2011 14:04

Agree with tummytickler.

pilates · 10/06/2011 18:28

No not Jean! Jeannie sounds much better.

SloganLogan · 10/06/2011 19:38

Jeannie would be nice as nickname for Jean, Jeanina, Jeanice, Jeanette, Jeanetta.

PatriciatheStripper · 10/06/2011 19:56

Jeanice? Hmm

SloganLogan · 10/06/2011 20:46

Yes, Jeanice is a real name, I hadn't heard of it either but it was on a baby name site :)

Katiekatiekatekate · 13/06/2011 21:03

Gosh thanks - more responses than I expected :)

I think I was overthinking and should go traditional by the sounds of it. MissHonkover, I'd missed Jeanie as a possibility but really like that now, thank you!

You're welcome! Very excited that someone likes a name suggestion I've made. Obviously the middle name will have to be Honkover. Grin

squeak2392 · 14/06/2011 20:21

Definitely Jeannie or Jeanie.
