What do you think of Rhiannon as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

It always makes me think of Stevie Nicks.

BelleEnd · 27/05/2011 17:19

Lovely. Particularly if you are Welsh and can say it properly.

K999 · 27/05/2011 17:19

Not keen tbh

peeriebear · 27/05/2011 17:20

I have a sister and a SIL by the name :) and I know another gorgeous little one of around 8 or 9. 'Tis a good name :)

cjbartlett · 27/05/2011 17:21

Love it
not that common either

FairyArmadillo · 27/05/2011 17:24

I love it and I also love the song.

MelinaM · 27/05/2011 17:49

Nice name, but abhor the nn's Rhi and Nonny!

tummytickler · 27/05/2011 17:53

Not keen. I like loads of Welsh names, but not this one.

JamieAgain · 27/05/2011 18:12

Lovely

Jojay · 27/05/2011 18:13

Pretty, but I'd be concerned about the lack of nickname potential.

TheMitfordsMaid · 27/05/2011 18:15

If you move to Wales you won't be able to move without falling over a few. Even where I live in England I know a few.

deliakate · 27/05/2011 18:18

I quite like Rhian as a nn.

dislike it

fluffles · 27/05/2011 20:03

i prefer rhianna or rianna

pilates · 27/05/2011 20:06

No don't like

SecretNutellaFix · 27/05/2011 20:37

It is most definitely not a name I would ever consider due to personal dislike of a particular bearer of the name. Who insists that "all my friends call me Rhi, so you have to"

Objectively- it's a bit old-fashioned in Wales. I don't know any Rhiannon's under about 20.
Rhian is much prettier and is a name in it's own right, but that's my opinion. If you like a longer Welsh name, Angharad is lovely.

darleneoconnor · 27/05/2011 21:56

I really like it but it does make me think of the singer.

I think it's lovely, a name I've always liked.

JemimaMop · 27/05/2011 22:39

Lol at Rhinocerous. I have a friend called Gwenan and my predictive text changes it to Hyena!

I love the name Rhiannon and have quite a few friends with the name. Rhianedd is also nice. But as others have said it needs to be said with a proper Welsh "Rh".

5DollarShake · 28/05/2011 02:23

Not keen. A bit clunky for my tastes.
