Does Ben go with our surname?

I really like the name Ben but am not sure whether it goes with our surname which is Fitz** similar to Fitzpatrick.

When I say it out loud I hear the word Benefits so it sounds like Benefits Patrick.

Am I overthinking this or does it really obviously sound silly?

I would not have thought it till you said it but now you have said it I think it does sound like Ben Fits*** esp if you called him Benny!!!

I think it's fine. Although saying it over and over I'd be more concerned about Ben fits Patrick but that might be just the mood I'm in...

What about Benjamin with Ben as nn (or Benji which I love - Benji Fitzpatrick is very cool!)

Benjamin or Benedict would sound lovely

But all the Benjamins and Benedicts I know inevitably get shortened to Ben, so the OP does need to be happy with the combo Ben Fitz.....

I probably wouldn't have made the connection but now that you mentioned it, yes I can see it sound a little like Benefits... but there are far worse combinations (e.g. Ben Dover).
