Time is running out and we still can't decide what to call our DS. After considering dozens of names we've now narrowed it down to four. What do you think of these?

Joseph
Theo
Otis
Ivo

Prefer Joseph and Theo - both lovely.

Otis makes me think Aardvaark.

ChippingIn · 19/05/2011 15:00

Otis - always makes me think of lifts
Ivo - don't like
Theo - girly
Joseph - best of the bunch, but not one I'd choose.

Sorry - it's always a difficult decision isn't it.

tummytickler · 19/05/2011 15:01

I like Ivo
Otis is also nice
Joseph is fine. Nice but uninteresting
Theo is one of my pet hates. I cannot see why it is so popular at all. So not that one Grin
Ivo is fab though

pirateparty · 19/05/2011 15:01

Agree - really like Joseph and Theo.

digital · 19/05/2011 15:04

Forgot to say we also quite like the name Heath... So, 5 names in total:

Joseph
Theo
Otis
Ivo
Heath

We'd welcome some new suggestions as there's still time to completely change our minds!

I like Ivo. Also Theo - shame it's become so popular. Heath reminds me of sheath, and then I think of my parents' copy of 'the joy of sex' and feel a bit sick. Otis - lifts or aardvarks. Joseph very dull, don't mind Jozef though.

poppydaisy · 19/05/2011 15:09

Love Otis, Heath and Ivo.

Theo is very 'faddy' and may date soon and I'm not keen on the nickname Joe.

PedigreeChump · 19/05/2011 15:16

Joseph is lovely and quite underused at the moment.

sparkle1977 · 19/05/2011 15:35

I like Theo the best

NinjaChipmunk · 19/05/2011 15:44

I really like Joseph (it is ds's middle name) and I like it shortened to Joe. I find the rest a bit 'meh' if I'm honest.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 19/05/2011 15:47

Joseph. Not keen on the others, they're too faddy.

MelinaM · 19/05/2011 15:50

Theo is the best, Theodore is lovely tooGrin

DialMforMummy · 19/05/2011 16:32

Love Otis. As long as your family name is not Redding.
Heath reminds me of Keith (not in a good way)
Theo very nice but is it very popular?
Like Joseph, don't dislike Ivo.

Jemma1111 · 19/05/2011 16:35

My son is named Joseph so I'm biased!

Also, there doesn't seem to be that many little Joseph's around at the minute

Incapinka · 19/05/2011 18:20

Joseph & Theo are my favourites. About 25 years ago (i was 6!) my first "love" was called Theo...

serendipity16 · 19/05/2011 19:10

Joseph is lovely.

Its 2 of my boys middles names as its part of their late grandads name.

Would have used it for my son last year but i don't like the name Joe & i know people would have called him Joe.

Hope88 · 19/05/2011 19:10

Joseph

MollyMurphy · 19/05/2011 19:16

Ooooh I love Otis - that is adorable.

Next for me would be Theo, then Heath.

Joseph seems a bit old-fashioned for my taste

I've never heard of Ivo - buts its not quite my cup of tea

largeginandtonic · 19/05/2011 19:17

Ivo! What a fab name Smile

sleepingsowell · 19/05/2011 19:21

Theo is lovely - my favourite of your choices
Joseph - too pedestrian and dull and not as stylish as your other choices
Ivo - love this name, there is a georgette heyer novel with Ivo as the romantic hero - this may or may not put you off! Grin
Otis - not attractive

Joseph
Then Theodore (nn Theo) is ok
don't like the others

GypsyWillow · 19/05/2011 20:00

Joseph, good name, v.popular at the moment (4 people at work have this for theirs kids, all under 3-4yrs)

Heath & Theo - cute when they're young but i'm not a huge fan of nicknames as first names but these are not too bad for that so I might sit on the fence there.

Ivo - real name? unsure here, bordering on not liking but may depend on the name that goes after it.

Otis - old mans name, maybe due for a revival?

digital - Have you got a middle name planned?

Difficult decision! Good Luck. xx
