Eliza. But I have one!! And she is lovely to boot!

pilates · 13/05/2011 16:26

They are all lovely names, but I think Claudia is the one that sounds best with Olivia. Eliza is very nice but quite a similar sounding to Olivia.

CordeliaCatkin · 13/05/2011 16:56

Olivia and Eliza are too samey I think. I would go for Clementine or Claudia, in that order.

EdithWeston · 13/05/2011 17:12

Clementine always makes me think "Oh My Darling" or small oranges. I like Claudia, but there are two ways of pronouncing it - would that bother you? Also, the meaning isn't great.

So I'd go for Eliza.

Valinor · 13/05/2011 19:05

Olivia and Eliza are quite similar. Olivia and Claudia both have the same 'ia' ending. Plus, I'm not keen on the meaning of Claudia, but meanings may not bother you.

Olivia and Clementine would be my choice, but then I have a Clementine so I may be a bit biased.

moodymary · 13/05/2011 19:13

I love all three, although in my opinion, Eliza goes least well with Olivia.

In my area I know of one Clementine, several Elizas but no Claudias at all which, for me, would be another good reason to choose it!

MercurySoccer · 13/05/2011 20:10

Clementine :)

rubyslippers · 13/05/2011 20:14

I like all 3 names

DD was nearly Clauia - think it's beautiful and quite under used

minceandchop · 13/05/2011 20:20

Clementine. The other names sound too similar to Olivia.

IslaValargeone · 13/05/2011 20:23

Claudia absolutely love it, not heard of very often either.

breadandhoney · 13/05/2011 20:25

I love Eliza!! Don't get the MN obsession with the name Clementine. I don't like it or Claudia at all. But Eliza is lovely :)

TidyDancer · 13/05/2011 20:31

They are all beautiful! I think Clementine is my favourite though. It was on my list for DD but DP wasn't too keen!

RubyGrace17 · 13/05/2011 21:59

I adore Clementine. I would've loved to have named one of my daughters Clementine but DH isn't a fan :( I think it's beautiful and is lovely with Olivia.

Love Clementine, Claudia is lovely too, but more often than not pronounced incorrectly by others. Eliza is nice but prefer ElizabethSmile

mummyofthemay · 13/05/2011 22:17

Clementine or Claudia

sonniebonnie · 14/05/2011 16:37

The meaning of Claudia (lame/disabled) would put me off, I'm afraid. Clementine is ok but reminds me of an orange. Eliza is nicest imo.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 14/05/2011 16:41

Sonniebonnie - Amelia means without limbs, it still sounds nice and hasn't put off a good number of people. I like Claudia v much.

Not Clementine, too cutesy.

Astley · 14/05/2011 16:57

Claudia. Clementine is an orange. Plus becoming very popular. I think it'll date very quickly, it'll be like Paige or Shannon that were massive for a few years then dropped off the planet.

I really like Eliza, but would use Elizabeth.

sonniebonnie · 14/05/2011 20:47

As far as I know the Latin root of Amelie/Amelia is 'industrious, hard working', whereas the Latin root of Claudia is Claudus meaning disabled/lame.

I hadn't been aware that the medical condition Amelia, but thanks for pointing it out.

slowshow · 17/05/2011 11:33

Clementine is a guilty pleasure of mine. I wouldn't use it (would never be able to convince my husband for a start) so I have to admire it from afar.

LOVE Eliza, but then I'm a sucker for late 19th/early 20th century names.

Claudia I'm not so keen on. There's also the question of whether you pronounce it CLAUD-ia or CLOUD-ia.

bambiandthumper · 17/05/2011 12:17

I love all your names, but think Eliza and Olivia are a bit too similar.

Clementine and Olivia go beautifully together (imo the 'a''s in Olivia and Claudia cause them to get a bit jumbled when said together.)

flopsy1974 · 18/05/2011 10:01

Clementine and Eliza are both lovely names, and both go well with Olivia. Not keen on Claudia.
