clear as mud title I am sure!! Although I did not change my surname when we married, dh and I have the same 1st name and surname initials. So eg we have
Mum AB
Dad AB
and then dd1 who is EB

Dd2 due imminently and the name I really like for her would also make her AB - is that a problem?!

I'm thinking more of dd1 wondering why she is the only one different? Or it sounding cringey if we are reeling off names, 3 1st names starting the same way?

I don't think it matters at all. I doubt anyone will notice what your childrens initials are. It's more important to choose a name that you love rather than one which 'goes with' or 'fits in' with the others.

Your post will be an utter nightmare! I knew of a family once where the parents and all four kids all shared the same initials. It seemed weird TBH.

I would definitely not do that. We ruled out giving DD2 any name that started with the same initial as DD1's for this reason.

For the post reason speakercorner? Have to admit hadn't thought of that! Although only dd2 and dh would be A. Bname as I have a different surname! I wouldn't have given dd1 the same initial as me, but feel now she is there it acts as a kind of buffer?! So instead of A, A and A we will be A, A, E and A?!!!

Don't think it matters at all - you are separate people who cares if you have the same initials! And think it very unlikely your dd E will feel cheated by not having the same initials as her parents. Never understood why the post thing should be a big deal. Only your younger daughter and her father will have same initial surname - I have this with my dad and it was never a problem as most post will say Mr/Ms or full name.
