.. I have a complicated situation, being foreign but DH is English/Irish, I was hoping I would be having a girl but it is a little boy so really struggling with boys names, I need something both his family and mine will have no difficulty saying. I've been through loads of books and the only name which popped out at me was Elliot.. but whenever I mention it to people I get a luke-warm reaction.. Its really growing on me, but am I the only one?

Love it. I only know one Elliott and he was a lovely boy and is now a fine young man.

MercurySoccer · 11/05/2011 23:14

Elliot is fine. Also like Eli.

LetThereBeRock · 11/05/2011 23:26

Elliot is awful.A horrid name that I really don't understand the appeal of.

GibberingGinger · 11/05/2011 23:37

Elliot is a lovely name. My only problem is I think it will be more and more popular over the next few years. I also like Logan btw!

BornAgainBitch · 12/05/2011 04:50

I love the name Elliot - it's a fine name Smile

AppleyEverAfter · 12/05/2011 11:31

Love Elliot, sounds posh!

PrincessScrumpy · 12/05/2011 12:49

Really like Elliot Logan! Grin

elliot was on our list. I work in a secondary school - all the Elliots are lovely boys.

pilates · 12/05/2011 20:40

Elliot sounds posh, really? It sounds the opposite to me.

Sorry don't like at all.

olympialimpet · 12/05/2011 20:42

Almost named ds Elliot, really like it.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 12/05/2011 20:44

I'm not fond of Elliot but it's a million times better than Logan.

usualsuspect · 12/05/2011 20:46

I like it a lot

MercurySoccer · 12/05/2011 20:53

I don't like Logan at all.

lostlady · 12/05/2011 20:58

Love it

Famouslastwords · 12/05/2011 21:03

I love Elliot. Was a firm favourite of mine but DP didn't like it :(

sparkle1977 · 13/05/2011 12:01

I love the name Elliot, would have had it for my DS2 if DH had allowed.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 13/05/2011 12:06

I like it, but also feel compelled to say it in E.T.'s voice.

nickelbabe · 13/05/2011 12:07

I like Elliot, too.
It's a good name :)

Aworryingtrend · 13/05/2011 12:07

This is on our boys name short list, love it. It doesn't matter what other peope think- it is up to you and your DH.

luvviemum · 17/05/2011 18:22

Elliot is my DS's name and I love it. I think it sounds classy and for me, there was no other name to compare. He gets called Els for short sometimes. Logan is nice too but as a middle name.

DilysPrice · 17/05/2011 18:29

I'm lukewarm but it's not my son. If we all loved your name then there'd be 15 Elliots in his class, which would be inconvenient.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it except that people will never be sure how many ll's and tt's to put in it, but that's not a serious objection.

sparkle12mar08 · 17/05/2011 18:41

Elliot is lovely, and I agree with the others, don't tell people in advance. It slves a lot of problems!

Idreamofsunshine · 17/05/2011 20:32

Yep its a great name Smile

UrsulaBuffay · 17/05/2011 20:47

Great name.

leftblank · 17/05/2011 22:48

I've always loved it

WhatGoodIsThis · 17/05/2011 22:53

really like it!
the only mistake you have made is telling other people before your baby is born! (in real life, people are MUCH more openly judgemental before the baby actually arrives...)
