If we have a girl we would like to call her Florence. We had decided on Ruby as the middle name but husband has changed his mind. Any ideas?

my great grandmother was Florence Kate and I always thought it was such a beautiful name!

I'm having a Florence too and she'll be Florence Rose Grace.
Other nice ones could be:
Florence Elizabeth
Florence Isabella
Florence Poppy
Florence Amelia
Florence Esme
Let us know what you decide x

I like Elizabeth. I always think 2-syllable first names go better with either 1-syllable or 3/4-syllable second names. I have no idea why.

And I say this as the mother of a daughter with 3 names (4 including surname) all with 2 syllables Hmm

Emelene · 09/05/2011 19:04

Florence Amelia sprung to mind for some reason. Hmm
Florence Amanda
Florence Elizabeth
Florence Felicity
Florence Maria
Florence Georgina
Florence Eleanor
Florence Rebecca
Florence Melissa
Florence Tabitha
Florence Poppy

Hope you can find a name you love. :)

Thanks for all your messages. I do like Florence Amelia and Florence Jenna. We have a lengthy surname so I want the middle name to be short and snappy

I have a Florence Alice.

bambiandthumper · 10/05/2011 14:09

Imo, your middle name should end in an 'a' or 'e' sound, just to balance out the 'unce' sound. Ignore this if i sound crazy

Florence Isadora
Florence Pandora
Florence Marina
Florence Ophelia
Florence Cressida
Florence Romilly
Florence Persephone
Florence Serena
Florence Allegra
Florence Arabella

theroseofwait · 10/05/2011 23:11

I love the name Florence. DS2 would have been Arabella Florence had he been DD1 and my Grandmama was Florence Alice. The only new one I know of is a 6 month old Florence Bella, both baby and name are gorgeous! I agree that you need a 'a' on the end.
