twolittlemonkeys · 04/05/2011 21:22

Strikes me as a very made-up name, sorry

fartingfran · 04/05/2011 21:22

No, no, no, no. :)

Collision · 04/05/2011 21:22

Agree that it sounds made up.

Not keen on the sound at all.

hester · 04/05/2011 21:23

How about Adelaide? Or, even better, Ada?

DuelingFanjo · 04/05/2011 21:24

don't know if it's made up but adelyn is by far the best option, it just looks better written down.

kizzibear · 04/05/2011 21:26

Its pretty american! A friend is using it but im not sure. Out loud its ok, but think its strange written down.

cazzybabs · 04/05/2011 21:26

I have never heard of it either but out of the spelling Adelyn

MelinaM · 04/05/2011 21:30

Not for me sorrySmile

pinkwineandsensations · 04/05/2011 22:45

I think Adalyn is very pretty :)

Emelene · 04/05/2011 22:54

Adalyn is ok, but confusing to spell and pronounce imo. It could be "Ayda-lin" or "adda-lin" and Adelyn could be "Aid-lin". Also the lin / line sound.

Not particularly to my taste, sorry.

MercurySoccer · 04/05/2011 22:59

Haven't heard of it so wouldn't know the right spelling.

MrsDaffodill · 04/05/2011 23:01

I know an Adeline pronounced "lyn".

Hdgygrl · 05/05/2011 09:30

Adelyn or Adalyn- Very pretty name. x

DELHI · 05/05/2011 13:32

Too 'made-up' as twolittlemonkeys said, and sounds like an indigestion remedy, sorry..

pranma · 05/05/2011 13:35

I'd go for Adeline too-with a 'lyn' prononciation if preferred.

mathanxiety · 05/05/2011 17:47

Isn't there a barbershop song 'Sweet Adeline' pronounced -line?

Stodgy turn of the last century even with the 'lyn' pronunciation and modern American feel.

MrsDaffodill · 05/05/2011 22:21

It isn't made up though, it is actually quite old I think?
