Daisy/Charlie or Eliza(beth)/William

Expecting girl/boys twins (much wanted IVF babies). They will probably be our only children (I'm old).

Which do you like? I can't decide whether to go for 'cute' or 'sophisticated' (but worry they sound a bit stuffy).

Definately Elizabeth and William. They do not sound stuffy at all, and they have loads of cute nn (Bessie and Billy - aaaaw).
Daisy and Charlie are just no where near as nice (but maybe Margaret and Charles?)

I say Eliza and Charlie.

I prefer Elizabeth and William. I think sophisticated and lots of nn available for them when they are older if they think stuffy!

I think sophisticated as there are plenty of nice nicknames for them and they won't sound ridiculous when your children reach adulthood. They'll want to be taken seriously at some point in their lives so a traditional name with lots of nicknames is what I would opt for.

Daisy & Charlie = common

Elizabeth and William = classy

Elizabeth has SO many potential nicknames, so I would use that- Eliza, Lizzie, Liz, Beth, Bess, Bessie, Bett.. and William can have Will, Liam, Billy..

I do love the name Daisy but Elizabeth is far nicer and more versatile and I prefer William to Charlie.

Elizabeth and Charles, or Elizabeth and William All beautiful, classic names that will stand the test of time.

Without a doubt Elizabeth and William. Both timeless, classic names. You can't go far wrong with them

yep, another elizabeth/william vote! lots of short versions (ellie, liz, eliza, beth/will, willy, billy), but then the full name is there for when they're grown up and need to sound more serious/sophisticated. i was always told to imagine you baby grew up to become a judge - would you be able to take them seriously with that name? plus, you can pull out the whole name when they're in trouble!

Charles is nice too, with Charlie as nn.

One of my children has an 8 year old Margaret in their class.

Oooh I have a Margaret who is 99% of the time called Daisy and a William so I think they go very well together. All the names are lovely, ELizabeth definitely on my list for a future child and the only reason Charles isn't is because it is dh's dad's name.

My two are called Charlie and Daisy and we are anything but common thank very much! Like both options too.. Good luck how exciting!

I'd go for full name rather than Charlie.

I like Elizabeth and Charles.

both names have nickname capabilities, but sound proper grown-up in their fullness, which is good for them as adults.

Eliza and William are my favourites

Elizabeth & William - classic, timeless, loads of lovely shortenings/nicknames.

Daisy & Charlie are much more "now" and together sounds very sweet, but slightly follow the current trend for naming babies/small children more than their adult selves iyswim.

They are all nice names though!

I have a 1yr old Elizabeth (yet to be shortened) and if my 2nd (due sept) is a boy he'll be William, good solid choices :)

I find I have trouble respecting any adult called Daisy, it's just strange.
