Title says it all really. Think if I had one today, he or she would at least get the middle name.

Yes I think quite a few will do.

went to a lovely street party today and couple sat opposite had to leave as their dd was in labour with their first grandchild Smile

I'm due today and we were going to have Kate as a middle name if it's a girl.

We already have a Will!

Am very dissappointed baby hasn't arrived on time, I was convinced!

thisisyesterday · 29/04/2011 21:36

really??? you'd name your child after them just because they were born on their wedding day???

UndiscoveredApprentice · 29/04/2011 22:17

I would definitely use it as a middle name, yes, to mark the occasion

Are you joking? You'd name YOUR baby the same name as Will or Kate just because they happen to get married today?

SoMuchToBits · 29/04/2011 22:19

I was working on a maternity ward when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were married. There were loads of Sarahs born that day.........

UndiscoveredApprentice · 29/04/2011 22:22

LOl well, actually I wouldn't, as I am not pregnant, but yes, if I happend to haved a baby today I would be sorely tempted to use it as a middle name. Also, if I hada baby at Christmas I think Holly or Noel might creep in as a middle name :)

people really are odd (I already have a Catherine, so it's not about not liking the name), aren't they?

A1980 · 30/04/2011 00:55

I think it's nice.

Looking at some of the hideous names people come up with these days in their quest to be "different" you could do alot worse than Catherine Elizabeth, two beautiful and classic names. Ditto William.

helendigestives · 30/04/2011 10:18

My Mum was Elizabeth because she was a coronation baby; it's a good tradition.

TreacleChops · 30/04/2011 12:44

Both William and Catherine are on our list of middle names (they're the names of grandparents) so if i was pregnant and due yesterday, the baby would have got it but not because of the wedding!

Sparklies · 01/05/2011 00:18

Total anecdote and statistically useless, but I was on a London postnatal ward over the last two days (ELCS) and saw no Williams or Catherines amongst the dozen or so names I heard!

I don't remember there being a huge wave of Dianas 30 years ago .... surprisingly I don't think she popularised the name as much as one might have expected.
