I love this name, always have, but not having much luck convincing DH. He thinks it is boring, whereas I think it's lovely! What do you think? Baby is due any day now, so I'd like to try to at least have some possible name ideas but we just can't agree! Thanks!

It's the same forwards as it is backwards.

Tommy · 27/04/2011 19:43

not boring at all - traditional, classic and beautiful Smile

Evenstar · 27/04/2011 19:46

It is lovely, but seems overused where I live in the south east, I work at a playgroup where there are around 48 children on the register, last year we had 5 of them and we have another 3 (different children) this year. Beware of Abigail too if you don't want a very popular name, at my new job there are 3 of them in one group of 12 children and another one in the baby room.

Needanewname · 27/04/2011 19:47

Love it, was thinking the other day that if I were to have DD3 I like the name Hannah, not going to be having any more children though! I also think its one of those classic names, not trendy but def not boring

smashingtime · 27/04/2011 20:15

I like it - there is only 1 Hannah at our school so not very popular where we live! Is classic and pretty I think!

smother · 28/04/2011 19:53

I think Anna is far nicer. Hannah is ok - totally inoffensive if a little bland....

Jaspants · 28/04/2011 19:56

What Tommy said

Panzee · 28/04/2011 19:57

I do like a palindrome.

FirefighterPennyMorris · 28/04/2011 20:01

I really like it and know of a couple, but I always want to rhyme it with banana ie Hannah-banana!

lipslave · 28/04/2011 20:13

I really like this name. Also really like Anna.

The only thing that slightly puts me off is the confusion thing. I had a v longstanding client at work called Anna and everytime she left a message the note would say 'please ring Hannah'. Would you spend your entire life saying 'no actually it is Hannah/Anna'?

Although having said this, I do live in yorkshire where everyone drops their aitches. Perhaps it wouldn't be a problem if you live where people talk proper. Grin

MummyBerryJuice · 28/04/2011 20:15

Think it is lovely but DH says it is too popular. I think we have settled on Anna if it's a girl m

TabithaTwitchet · 28/04/2011 20:24

It is v popular at DD's nursery - there are 3 girls called it (out of only about 20 children). Nice, but I personally prefer Anna.

LuckyWeKeptTheCot · 28/04/2011 20:25

I like it a lot. Was at school with a Hannah in the 70s but don;t know any children called that now. Lovely gentle but strong name.

FessaEst · 28/04/2011 20:28

I like it, haven't come across it at all at baby groups etc, so not overly popular, but everyone knows how to spell it. We can't use it as it is already in close family, have never known it be confused with Anna (am in the South!)

pointydog · 28/04/2011 20:32

There are now so many of them, I'm tired of it

Lonnie · 28/04/2011 21:33

I agreewith your dh

MadameCastafiore · 28/04/2011 21:34

There are 6 of them in DDs year and 14 in her school altogether - they all have to be called Hannah and their surname or everyone gets mixed up!

Terribly common these days - in a lots of not, not posh.

Clary · 28/04/2011 23:38

Hannah v popular and actually I know quite a few adult Hannahs too (mostly under 30 but still - there are 2 on the teaching staff of my school).

2 of DD's six best friends are Hannahs. Inevitably known as Hannah D and Hannah J. Hannah in most classes in our primary school.

It's a nice name but a popular one, is all I am saying.

CocktailQueen · 28/04/2011 23:40

Only one Hannah in our school - I like it :)

puffling · 28/04/2011 23:41

It's one of those names that you'd be happy to choose despite it's popularity.
I like Anna more though.

RightUpMyRue · 28/04/2011 23:41

Love it.

Love this name. Suits all ages. We have none at the school where I teach though several members of staff have daughters called Hannah.
I've just asked DD if she has Hannah at her school. She says,"Yes and we have Montana!!"

HRHDuchessLauraNorder · 29/04/2011 12:33

Bit dull. Maybe because I know so many of them.

WMDinthekitchen · 29/04/2011 12:37

Love it.
