Dh is keen on Daisy but I haven't made my mind up yet. I think it's pretty for a very young girl but twee and childish for an older girl and woman. I think it is also very popular?

I honestly don't understand this 'taking people seriously' business. If you met an adult called Daisy and didn't take them seriously, then that says a lot more about you than it doess about them and their parents name choices. Most people I know either grow into their name or make it their own somehow even if at first glance it wouldn't to your mind suit them

I think Daisy is lovely :)

it's a wonderful name and you should go for it if you love it. I too am a bit bored with the snobbery surrounding 'baby/twee/girlie' names. I think your character determines perceptions, and if people judge you by your name then s*d them!
I would much rather choose a name I loved than a name I thought strangers might approve of.

My grandmother had a sister Jessie, who mispronounced her name Daisy when she was little, and it stuck. The next generation actually used Daisy; my mother's cousin Daisy is in her 80s. So, to me, it's quite a strong adult name, because my Mum's relatives were / are strong women.

It was in my top ten possible names.

RipVanLilka - I agree!

I have a Daisy (DC4) and ummed and aaahed about it (on here I think! ) when it became clear she wasn't going to be a delicate little thing like her big sister....and eventhough she still isn't I do think it is a strong old traditional name and suits girls and women alike ..but I suppose I would (I also like Florence ), hope she grows up to like it as her middle name was a bit OTT ( think the gas and air was still having its effects Blush )

Lovely name, I like it.

I'm sorry, but I think it's a terrible name. So cutesy and twee and I shudder at all the Daisy-Maes etc.

How about Rose or Rosa? Much more sophisticated I think.
