What do you think?
And Elizabeth on birth certificate, or not?

We have a dd Anna already and I'm just interested in people's thoughts. Ultrasonographer thought it was a girl but couldn't be sure, baby had it's legs crossed! Smile

thanks!

Beth is beautiful. I would definitely NOT put Elizabeth on the birth certificate, don't understand why people would call a child one thing and officially name them something else.

My dd is bethan, in honour of my welsh roots. She gets called bethany alot here in england which i'm less keen on but bethan and beth are lovely

Beth is my current fave name for DC3. I too am unsure about whether to use Beth or Elizabeth on the birth certificate. I'm not keen on Bethany or Bethan. The main reason I'm unsure is because I'm not sure which middle names go with Beth (compared with Elizabeth which is much easier). OP - have you thought about what middle names you would use if you called your DC Beth?

Beth, short for Elizabeth, gets my vote. Nothing wrong with having a long name and using a diminutive every day. Your dd would have a number of alternatives in future if she wished.

I'm called Elizabeth, and have at various times been known as Beth, Liz, Libby, Lizzy and Bet, so just be aware that if you only want it shortened to Beth she will probably change it to something else once she can make her own mind up about it! On the plus side, it meant I never had to have the same name as anyone else in my class!
