Hi, please help!
Just found out that after two gorgeous sons, we are expecting a girl. So, so happy but have never had to think of girls names so have no idea.
My sons are called Archie & Rupert.
Any suggestions for nice old fashioned / not too common girls names??

I love your boys' names. No idea for girls' names, but I am sure some other people will make suggestions. Also, try looking at The Times Birth Announcements, as they seem to be in the 'Archie/Rupert' vein.

Clara. I'm all about suggesting Clara today. But it does go will with Archie and Rupert.

Archie, Rupert and Clara.

LoopyLoopsChupaChups · 07/04/2011 14:55

I agree with Clara. Not sure about the other suggestions though.

There are so many lovely girls names, you'll be fine. Do a search for Edwardian names to go with the ones your boys have.

Oh and Archie & Rupert want to call her Bertie - don't know what girl's name that could be short for???

ShowOfHands · 07/04/2011 15:49

Roberta shortened to Bertie is lovely.

loler · 07/04/2011 16:04

ds2 has a friend called Beatrix shortened to Bertie. Loads of people comment on what a cute name it is.

nickelbabyhatcher · 07/04/2011 16:56

yes, Beatrix is good.

katydix · 07/04/2011 17:09

Another one for Clara,
or Phoebe, Lydia or Emmeline.

loler · 07/04/2011 21:37

Oh - I've never suggested a name on one of these threads that anyone has actually liked before - tis a cool name though and goes with the ds's names.

blueberrymoon · 07/04/2011 23:08

What an exciting thread! I am loving Beatrix nn Bertie - how cute! And I also LOVE Clara! So pretty. And Archie and Rupert sound adorable! Do they have middle names?!

emmanumber3 · 07/04/2011 23:16

I'm in the same boat - two boys (Jack & Tom) and found out yesterday that I'm expecting a baby girl.

Also have no idea about what she might be called Smile.

Bertie could be short for Bertha or Beatrice. Also think Emmeline would go well with your boys' names, maybe shortened to Emmy?

emmanumber3 · 07/04/2011 23:17

Oh, thought of another Bertie possibility - Alberta Smile.

Archie, Rupert and Sophia... Bethany...

LadyWellian · 07/04/2011 23:31

Esther. Or is Old Testament too old-fashioned? Grin

LadyWellian · 07/04/2011 23:34

Doesn't work with Bertie though - sorry, hadn't read whole thread - though does the NN have to relate to the actual name?

blueberrymoon · 07/04/2011 23:39

emma with Jack and Tom, you have to have Kate :) (or Rosie!)

And I agree that Archie and Rupert (they could be out of a novel) sound great with Emmeline, nn Emmy!!
