No, Im sorry, I really dont like it - at all.

But then dont listen to me, I think Sonny is a great name!!

OkeeDoeKee · 06/04/2011 12:18

No. It's not a 'proper' name as far as I'm concerned (short for Leonard) plus it always makes me think of Lenny in 'Of Mice and Mice' and then I want to cry.

I know a little boy called Lenny he is really cute. So i think its a cute name

Ihavewelliesbuttheyrenotgreen · 06/04/2011 12:42

I think its a cute name but it does need Leonard as a longer version imo for a grown-up. Its a nice name and didn't remind me of Lenny from Mice and Men until OkeeDoeKee mentioned it.

maGicGift · 06/04/2011 12:46

Thank you, I was worried if we call him Leonard it may get shortened to Leo... I think the mice and men character is spelt Lennie

Dislike it but love Sonny.

LetThereBeRock · 06/04/2011 14:34

No,it's awful imho.It's a horrid name.

maGicGift · 06/04/2011 14:35

thats a little harsh!

Well I do think it's that bad. It makes me think of a 60s gangster, and I hate the sound. It's not the worst name I've ever heard, far from it,but I really do dislike it that much.
If it's a family name I might use it as a middle name,as Leonard, but otherwise no.

iskra · 06/04/2011 14:57

I like Lenny! I know a very nice (grown up) one, & I had a crush on one at school.

leftblank · 06/04/2011 21:07

My guinea pig is called Lenny

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 06/04/2011 21:11

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo - sorry but it is pretty bad.

And it will always make me think of Lennie in Of Mice And Men.

I used to know a family who had 'old Leonard' and 'young Leonard' and it didn't make me like the name any better!

Valinor · 06/04/2011 21:21

It's too nicknamey for me. Ok as a short form of Leonard etc.
