Is the R quite hard like in French or soft like in English?

Thanks!

Hard, as in 'Karen'. Seren has the same rhythm as 'Karen' or 'Helen', if that helps.

It does thanks. I think that might just be the one. DH just said yes :-)

Yeah, kind of rhymes with Helen if you see what I mean, though the 'e' is pronounced the same both times it appears.

Ooh yay, I love that name but DH vetoed most Welsh names :-(

(My first and middle names are both very Welsh, and we both are by birth and upbringing!)

I have a Seren. It always gets good responses when I introduce her (not in Wales :))

I really think that's it. I have been obsessing for weeks. Waking up in the middle of the night etc...
So probably Seren Niamh :-)

DD has a Breton name, DS Irish and DD2 will have a Welsh one!

DS was going to be Seren if he'd been a girl. Love it! Seren Niamh flows beautifully.

LOL. DS1 is Scottish, DS2 Irish and D Welsh. Names, not nationalities :)
